This week is the delightful double at CAS Colours & Sketches.Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 11.56.44
Double Challenge #180
uses the colours, Bermuda Bay – Melon Mambo – Daffodil Delight , with Bev’s following sketch.

To start out, I dragged out some pattern paper similar to the colours suggested and pasted them together in a hap hazard geometric style.  I used one of MFT’s Die-namics Stitched Basic Edges to cut a stitched curve in the white card stock.  This was glued atop the the 3 pattern papers and using the stitched rectangle in MFT’s Die-namics Blueprints 25, I die-cut the main panel.

Papersmooches’ word die-cut
celebrate” is broken in 4 sections, so I used the
same pattern papers and embossed it with clear sparkle powder.  You can see the reflections below…

threads and assembled the card.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!!!

CASColours178Weekly Winner

This card was selected for the Double Challenge #180 at CAS Colours & Sketches. Thanks for the recognition & Congrats to all the other Winners:)

Welcome Baby

I applied ColourQ’s Challenge #348 colours, Night of Navy – Only Orange – Certainly Celery – Cool Caribbean to CASology’s week 204 : ROW!!!

To keep it simple, I die-cut IO’s Circle Baby Cutout Set on Navy card-stock and used the remaining three colours to fill in the empty spaces behind, after embossing them with the Swiss Dots folder (we never get tired of that folder).  Using MFTs Die-namics Homespun Stitch Lines, I embellished the upper and lower sections of the navy strip.  A little white gel pen for the dots and it was done 😀

…Well not quite.  There’s a French expression that says thumb_IMG_0626_1024“Only FOOLS don’t change their mind”  and I did LOL.  I found it too dark for a baby card, so I added another white front panel YAY, I think you’ll agree …now I can go to sleep happy-R.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Darling Daisy

The Mojo Monday 454 sketch by Julee Tilman has been turned Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 11.58.09
clockwise for my take. A Sizzix die was used for the circle shape corner behind the rectangle shape. As for the centerpiece, I combined pattern card-stock and white vellum by sewing them together. A stamp called “amicalement” (affectionately) was white embossed on the vellum. A white daisy flower and a SSS die-cut stem were pasted instead of the banner. Finally, yellow sequins and a yellow bow were used to embellish.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Dragonfly Blues

A beautiful Sunday morning sparked the creative juices, to be inspired by a Clean-Lined white and blue card.Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 11.59.52
Capture d’écran 2016-08-07 à 17.23.16 Less is More #282 is using stencils this week, YAY!  Combined with the Freshly Made Sketches #242, my card was such a zen process 😉

Using ColorBox’s Swirldot 6×6 Stencil, I applied a thick layer of light modelling paste and sprinkled iridescent aqua glitter while wet.  Once dry, I brushed away the excess.  I die-cut a ribbon from Elizabeth Craft Designs 1 and threaded a strip of aqua vellum paper through the oval circles.  Several white and blue vellum dragonflies were die-cut with Penny Black’s “FLUTTERS”.  Two layers of white + one layer of blue vellum were pasted together for each dragonfly.  The wings were curved and I tied blue thread around the bodies, leaving loose ends.  I then put the card together using Nacelle Farrugia’s great sketch from FMS.  I also entered my card in the Simon Says: Add Some Shimmer Wednesday Challenge.

Loved the challenges.  Thanks for stopping by! 😀

Peach Rose

Loved combining these two challenges:

I started by white embossing a script stamp on watercolour paper and gave it a gray wash.  I then stamped the rose in a mix of Blush Blossom, Peach Parfait & Chocolate Chip.  I matted the piece on Peach card-stock and then recreated Bev’s fun sketch. I added two leafy die-cuts on the top left in gray and brown and the card was done.

Thanks for stopping by 😉  Happy to see you again!

CAScolours179Weekly Winner

Yay, this card was a weekly winner at the CAS Colours & Sketches for Sketch Challenge #179. Thanks for the recognition & Congrats to all the other Winners 🙂

Plant, Grow, Harvest.

Another great design by Julee Tilman for Mojo Monday #453. Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 06.45.18
I used soft MME card stock called “Happy Day” to bring this card together.  Some watercolour smooshing with Tombow Dual Brush Markers on Bristol cardstock with a great stamp from Technique Tuesday which says it all.  Wishing it to be the world’s words to live by 🙂

Hope you have a great week, thanks for stopping by!

The “Less is More” week #281 theme is FAUX BLEACH. Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 06.47.32
Yikes, this really got my juices going.  The bleaching is a first for me.  But I had the Freshly Made Sketches #241 by Karren Johnson, to keep my project clean-lined and fresh! YAY 😀

Using the Misti tool for the stamping, I placed a post-it die-cut circle for masking and I added another straight strip to keep Karren’s design (clockwise from the sketch displayed on the right).  Two different background stamps were used as I bleached on the royal blue cardstock.  I ended up with an AQUA colour, thank goodness I had AQUA twine and AQUA glitter paper.  Using MFT’s Stitchable Dot Circle dies, I die-cut the space I had reserved with the post-it circle.  I threaded the twine and die-cut several IO’s heart stems in vellum, white cardstock and glitter paper.  Don’t you just love those heart stems?  A little tag stamped “amitié” (friendship) was tied with the aqua twine and the card was done.

Hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping by!thumb_IMG_0586_1024

Inspired by Bev’s beautiful Summery combination of Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Pear Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 06.49.33
Pizzazz in The CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #178, I had “lotsa” fun creating this card. This awesome design is by Leigh Penner’s Clean & Simple Sketch #177 from CAS(E) this Sketch!

Using Sizzix Thinlits, from the Tim Holtz Alterations collection, I die-cut the upper left corner of a white rectangle, leaving a stencil-like pattern, and accented this by adding the Pool Party cardstock underneath.  I loved the effect of the garden trellis to which left me pasting an arrangement of flowers and leaves (I do love flowers 😉 ).  I clear embossed the black “hello” to the summery card and glued this whole design in the center of my card.

Thanks for looking!

This card was a weekly winner on Weekly Winners – Colour Challenge #178   Thank you for the recognition!  Congrats to all the other weekly winners for the same colour challenge 😀

Fêtes des Pères

Father’s Day this Sunday 😛   My music man needs a masculine card, the CASology Cue theme for week 202.  So I used the colourQ challenge #346… colours of grey, blue, olive and navy + white for my card.

As a backdrop I placed white plaster tape on the upper portion of my grey cardstock. I die-cut a navy treble clef pasted in front of a olive wavy stripe to which I used the MFT blueprints 15 for the perforations.  I then stamped “Bonne Fêtes des Pères” (Happy Father’s Day).  I hooked, with spiraled silver wire, the border blue die-cut notes and, of course, his glasses.  A couple of My Mind’s Eye olive enamel dots to balance.

Happy Father’s Day to all our DADs, thanks for stopping by!

This card received a special mention at colourQ challenge #346, THX for the recognition!

Bonne Fête

Mojo MONDAY #452, in soft aqua flavours. Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 06.52.21
The inspiration for this card is designed by Julee Tilman’s great sketch.

An aqua “script” embossed vellum rectangle, framed with aqua card stock and a circle die-cut in Japanese paper neatly tucked under.  Two white brads hold the silver bead string which was threaded through the “Bonne fête” word die (Happy Birthday).

Hope you enjoy, have a great week 😉
