Dragonfly Blues

A beautiful Sunday morning sparked the creative juices, to be inspired by a Clean-Lined white and blue card.Capture d’écran 2016-08-23 à 11.59.52

Using ColorBox’s Swirldot 6×6 Stencil, I applied a thick layer of light modelling paste and sprinkled iridescent aqua glitter while wet.  Once dry, I brushed away the excess.  I die-cut a ribbon from Elizabeth Craft Designs 1 and threaded a strip of aqua vellum paper through the oval circles.  Several white and blue vellum dragonflies were die-cut with Penny Black’s “FLUTTERS”.  Two layers of white + one layer of blue vellum were pasted together for each dragonfly.  The wings were curved and I tied blue thread around the bodies, leaving loose ends.  I then put the card together using Nacelle Farrugia’s great sketch from FMS.  I also entered my card in the Simon Says: Add Some Shimmer Wednesday Challenge.

Loved the challenges.  Thanks for stopping by! 😀
