Great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #246, so as suggested by the Less is More Recipe: Use something Tactile (two week recipe challenge #286 & 287) I combined the two to create my handmade card 🙂
First, I passed the interior rectangle of white card stock in the We R Memory Keepers WOVEN Embossing Folder. I cut a leaf die in three different materials, white card stock, white felt and white vellum (Tactile). Then I die cut a SSS whimsical flower die in silver-ish card stock along with a tiny butterfly. With an eyelet, I attached all together, the leaves and card stock, along with a strip of silver wire (passed through my paper crimpler). I adhered the flower and the butterfly, pasting this whole piece onto my card. Hope you enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by, Happy Cardmaking 😀
Jen Mitchell from Freshly Made Sketches (#246) chose this card to be a Princess. Thank you so much and congrats to the winner and fellow Perfect Princesses 🙂
Great colours and great sketches from CAS Coulours & Sketches Challenge #183 and CAS(E) this Sketch! #182. Love these two blogs, there’s so much energy going on 🙂 So I die cut a pocket in a piece of vellum (crush curry) and added texture by embossing with the We R Memory Keepers quilted folder. I framed the piece with Island Indigo card stock. Then, using Sue Wilson’s collection, I die cut a flower in Tip Top Taupe colour card stock, adding a rhinestone, and then the leaf stem in Island Indigo. I stamped “coucou!” using champagne embossing powder to match the Tip Top Taupe colour and the card was finished.
Have a great weekend and Happy Card Making 😀
The new cue word for Week 207 is “ROUGH” at CASology. Using the ColourQ challenge #351 colours of Midnight Muse, Concord Grape, Bermuda Bay and Gold I began assembling this card. I die cut 2 Penny Black large Flutters, in Midnight Muse and Gold. The Midnight Muse piece was die with different other dies and pasted atop the Gold Flutter. The body of the butterfly was cut with Concord Grape card stock, polished with Wink of Stella and shined with a coat of Glossy Accents. I wrapped some gold thread around a piece of corrugated (rough) Bermuda Bay card stock and laid the Butterfly on the top left corner. The card was finished with Gold polkadot Midnight Muse strip pasted at the bottom and a gold “hi” was added. All corners were rounded with We R Memory Keepers corner chopper.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great week 😉
Another fun sketch from MOJO Monday #457! The back panel was embossed with the Spellbinders Fabric Weave folder and then the vellum horizontal strip was heat embossed in white with a mesh wire stamp. The bird die is from Technique Tuesday and was framed with the larger SSS Quadrangle Frames. The stitched rectangle, on the right, was white embossed with a script and rose stamp and then the gold embossing says “With Sympathy”. Finally, two die cut leaves, one in white and the other in gold, were attached above the bird.
Just want to say, I really enjoy your comments and I thank you so much. Hope you have a great week 😀
Sometimes I see a sketch and I go a little crazy on the possibilities 😀
After seeing the CAS(E) this Sketch #181, I cut a strip of royal blue card stock, added a strip of Japanese paper on top and perforated the top and bottom with Papersmooches DOTS border die. I threaded, in silver, opposite sides of the border adding blue beads along the way. This was pasted on the card as inspired by the challenge. A “Bonne Fête” word die (Happy Birthday) was cut out in silver and the card was done.

A lovely simple sketch challenge, #182,
from CAS Colours & Sketches. White cards are my fave. A little modelling paste with Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter from Ranger. With the Lil’ Inker Stitched Hearts Die four pieces of vellum were cut. The top one was Deco foiled with the Opal transfer sheet. All four hearts were perforated together in the center and sewn with silver color bead string. Clear sparkly beads were added here and there as well as 3 clear sequins. The heart was placed over the stencilled area and it was finished 😀

The CASology cue word for Week 206: ART and
the colours from colourQ challenge #305 are: Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Old Olive and Pool Party. So why not a painting “made with love” of a bouquet of wild flowers die-cuts from Sizzix. Using Zig brush markers to colour the flowers I then pasted them onto Pool Party card stock after passing it through the Spellbinders Fabric Weave embossing folder. I smudged a little Versamark pen here and there to add different colours of embossing powder thus adding texture. All was framed with a foam mounted Fancy Frame Icons Die from Papersmooches. Clean and Simple!
