les fleurs

capture-decran-2016-10-28-a-16-56-47This week I created my style to two fun capture-decran-2016-10-28-a-16-56-57blogs:

ColourQ Challenge #365 &                CAS(E) this Sketch! #196

Making my own hearts stencil, I applied modelling paste with clear rock candy glitter for the horizontal piece on my folded white card base.  Then I water coloured the die-cut flowers in Basic Black, Concord Grape, Tangerine Tango & Crushed Curry.   Following the curve of the stems, “les fleurs” (flowers) was stamped in black onyx Versafine ink.  Hope you enjoy, have a great weekend 😉

capture-decran-2016-10-09-a-12-05-45My last post in October, as a Guest Designer for CAS Colours & Sketches, leaves me with a beautiful “Souvenir” of the awesome Design Team from this fun challenge blog.  This card is for these creative people and to say THANKS 😉  for this fun journey!

I die-cut 3 Sizzix wild flowers in watercolour paper and painted them with Zig Clean Color Brushes. Then the stitched horizontal strip of vellum was white heat embossed towards the bottom left with a grass edge stamp.   Green ink splatters were placed to the upper half of the white card stock base.  Once the 3 flowers were dry, they were adhered to the left, just under the grass on the vellum.  The word die “Souvenir”, on the bottom right of the card, was also white heat embossed to match the grassy pasture and mounted, just off, an olive green word die cut.

I can’t wait to see your cards creations for this week’s sketch challenge #197.

Thanks for stopping by, happy card making 😀  HUGz Joanna

Fight like a girl

capture-decran-2016-10-22-a-10-42-24With October being national Capture d’écran 2016-08-07 à 17.23.16Breast Cancer awareness month, the CAS-ual Fridays #159 is pink this week 😀  Plus, the Less is More Challenge #299 recipe is ACETATE or VELLUM.      A VELLUM tag was stamped and silver pearl heat embossed with autumn leaves.  Flipping the tag around, I used Chrissie’s recipe by using alcohol ink to stamp the hearts behind the leaves.  A white eyelet was fastened to the tag to thread a coral string with beads.  The white card base was etched with MFT’s stitched border and a strip of coral card stock tucked underneath.  The tag was adhered with the word die “hugs” to support all of these courageous ladies… losta luv always helps 😉

This card was also entered in the Simon Wednesday Challenge blog 🙂

capture-decran-2016-10-21-a-12-59-36ColourQ’s palette #364 of Basic Black, capture-decran-2016-10-21-a-12-59-22Lovely Lilac, Pumpkin Pie & Tempting Turquoise were ideal for this die-cut butterfly.  So using Linda’s Freshly Made Sketch #259, it was the perfect setting for a fluttery pause.  The 3 bright colours were applied on the watercolour paper die-cut and the black card-stock was used for the insect’s body. This piece was clear heat embossed twice.  For the white card base, embossing paste was applied above an MFT stitched border.  Two circle die-cuts in vellum and shimmer white paper (die cut again with an octagon die) were the seat of the butterfly.

Sincères Condoléances

Great colours this week at the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge Blog 😀   So Honoured to be one of their Guest Designers this month.  capture-decran-2016-10-03-a-12-38-31CAS Colours & Sketches #196 is composed of Garden Green, Metallic Copper & Cherry Cobbler.  Using these colours I saturated a rectangle piece of water colour paper and copper heat embossed with a scratches stamp from IO.  Using the Misti tool, I stamped in the same tones a script stamp also from IO.  A butterfly was die cut from a left over of the saturated water colour paper and from a piece of white vellum.  Vellum and white card stock leaves were added, speckled with dotted copper embossing powder.  This all came together when I die cut & pasted together 4 word die cuts “Sincère Condoléances” (Deepest Condolences).  All pieces were adhered to a white card base.

Hope you’ll join the fun, Happy Card Making 😉  Thanks for stopping by, HUGz Joannaimg_0957

Bon voyage!

A quick card for Mojo Monday Challenge #470  😉    capture-decran-2016-10-17-a-17-53-06

Except for the plane and banner, this is a one layer card.  An extra challenge, since I wanted to give masking a try with heat embossing.  Was quite happy with the results.

Bon voyage! 😀

…initially I wanted to use Color Throwdown #414 challenge but then I was too late to enter it 😉     This is my first version, I sponged the grey contour, again by masking.  Then I added gesso with some water for the splashes and a little spray of Perfect pearls for some shine.

Winter White

capture-decran-2016-10-02-a-15-24-55This is my second submission as the October Guest Designer for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge Blog.

CAS Colours & Sketches #195 was rotated 90 degrees, clockwise, for my card.  Four poinsettia die cuts in white vellum were fastened with silver thread and beads. Pine branches were cut in silver foil paper and twice in vellum.  These elements were adhered to a rectangle of white card stock, embellished with Clear Rock Candy Glitter to the vellum and on the rectangle’s edges.  Using the same silver foil card stock, the word die “noël” was glued to the right of the flower.  This white card base mesures 4,25″ X 4,25″.

Another Christmas card ready to go 😉  Hope you’ll get inspired to join us for this week’s amazing Sketch!
