Papillon

capture-decran-2016-10-21-a-12-59-36ColourQ’s palette #364 of Basic Black, capture-decran-2016-10-21-a-12-59-22Lovely Lilac, Pumpkin Pie & Tempting Turquoise were ideal for this die-cut butterfly.  So using Linda’s Freshly Made Sketch #259, it was the perfect setting for a fluttery pause.  The 3 bright colours were applied on the watercolour paper die-cut and the black card-stock was used for the insect’s body. This piece was clear heat embossed twice.  For the white card base, embossing paste was applied above an MFT stitched border.  Two circle die-cuts in vellum and shimmer white paper (die cut again with an octagon die) were the seat of the butterfly.

  2. Wow, this is gorgeous! I love the little splash of color on a white textured backgroud; it really makes that gorgeous butterfly stand out! The double clear heat embossing is SO pretty, too. I’ve been thinking about investing in some embossing tools… and you have given me another reason! Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. What a great take on the sketch! Using the embossing paste and the stitched lines for the two background layers is a fabulous idea and that butterfly is gorgeous! Thanks for playing along with us at colourQ and Freshly Made Sketches!
