May 2017 bring you health & love… The January CAS Mix Up Challenge is nice and inky 😛  While experimenting with Winsor & Newton drawing inks (Liquid Colours), I had placed tissue papers as an absorbant on my work space.  Using droppers, I inked up a watercolour paper panel which dripped down onto the tissue papers.  They actually left me with these delicious mixtures which I decided to allow to dry and to recycle.  These were pasted onto 110 lb card stock using Matte Medium.  I then die cut a part that appealed to me with a rounded MFT rectangle die, BUT there was a muddy section in the center, so I die cut a heart …January precedes valentine 😀   

I covered this piece with versamark and added UT embossing powder.  The heat gun was applied underneath the die cut piece until it all melted.  On the reverse side of this shiny piece, double sided tape was placed along the heart shape edge.  Silver embroidery thread was added to give a chaotic mesh.  A wide strip of vellum was torn to which I stamped and silver heat embossed the word “love”.  This was adhered to a white card base in the horizontal position and the final piece was added.  Hope you get inspired to join us at CAS Mix Up.
