hugs

capture-decran-2017-01-11-a-18-09-28Experimenting with mulberry papercapture-decran-2017-01-11-a-16-18-44 I saturated the midsection of my rectangular piece, using a brush, with Dylusion Ink Spray (in vibrant turquoise ….the closest blue tint I could get).  Die cutting the flowers 3 times and adhering them together, I used a crackle stamp from IO, to stamp the flowers in yellow pigment ink and then clear heat embossed.  To add more punch, I wrapped around the stem and the receptacles of the blooms with yellow thread.  Glossy black card stock was used for the “hugs” die cut and the border was made by using an old Martha Stewart punch.  This card was inspired by Kim‘s Freshly Made Sketche #270 and Color Throwdown’s #425 colour palette. january-2017

At the CAS Mix Up January Challenge, we’re using liquid colours, hope you’ll give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by and happy card making, HUGz Joannaimg_1386-2

  1. Wow! This card is exceptionally gorgeous! I’ve never heard of the mulberry paper and I love the way you inked the center and left the borders white. The texture is awesome. And if that’s not enough incredible art, the addition of the beautiful and unique flowers puts it over the top. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful creation with us at FMS.

  2. I love the background you created for those cheerful yellow flowers. The pops of black are a great accent. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

  4. Love the use of the mulberry paper – I have some in my drawers somewhere and had totally forgotten about it. You’ve reminded me to use it! And I really love the way you gave the flower die texture and interest!
