Coffee lover :)

This is a one layer card in honour of my favourite morning brew 😛  I masked off the black board section and with a square mask, I added flexible molding paste by using TCW mini labyrinth stencil to the upper left.  Then I stamped my mug, and fussy cut another to mask it.  With a homemade rectangle stencil, I sponged black Memento ink to simulate those coffee shop black boards.  A frame was drawn with a white gel pen and the contour was drawn using a black micron pen.   Once done, I stamped “What’s Perking?” and white heat embossed.  The blue and yellow coffee cup was coloured with Zig clean colour brushes and some splatters of the same colours were added over the molding paste.  Wink of Stella was added to the blackboard, Nuvo glitter drops were added to the heart and the mug was finished with a thick coat of Glossy Accents.  The diagonal stitched stripe was created by using a Papersmooches die.  Black rhinestones were used to finish this one layer card 😀

I’m entering my card in three challenges:

Color Throwdown #425      Less is More Challenge#311      &  Mojo Monday Challenge #480

Hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping by, HUGz Joannaimg_1392

  1. Super masking and incredible texture! Love the free and arty feel of the background against the blackboard. The glossy cup looks amazing too. Superb card. Thank you so much for joining us at Less is More xx

  2. This is awesome!! LOVE the “blackboard” backdrop for your beautiful and shiny coffee mug. And the embossing paste background is fantastic. So inspiring, my friend! xx

  3. What a super way of making layers and texture on a one layer card! Very creative and artistic. I love the visual feast this provides for us – fab card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More 🙂

  4. Great depiction of a coffee shop blackboard! And a lovely blue and yellow mug (my kitchen colours so I have some blue and yellow mugs!) – I like the way you repeat the colours in the background. Nice mixed media!
