CAS Colours & Sketches #216

Capture d_écran 2017-03-31 à 17.19.49A spring card for CAS Colours & IMG_1607Sketches #216.  A little scoring inspired by the Sketch, some orange & yellow ink sponging for some colour.  The flower was die cut in orangish canvas and repeatedly die cut 3 times in yellow vellum.  A small script stamp was used for the top canvas die cut and “Molto Bello (Very Beautiful)” was stamped with Black Versafine ink on the white card base.  A tiny black bow was tied at the stem.  Hope you enjoy 😀

Mojo #490

Capture d_écran 2017-03-27 à 13.28.45Another card for Mojo Monday Challenge #490.  Only pink on white for this beautiful design by Julee Tilman.  A Papersmooches flower die over a pink heat embossed rectangle with a scratches stamp.   A piece of thread to attach the blossom and a pink vellum butterfly to embellish.  This was matted over a pink vellum rectangle.  Before adhering to the card base, I die cut a pink frame to which I added a pink heat embossed butterfly border.  The flower and butterflies were also watercolored in pink 😉  A little pearlescent Liquid Pearls here and there and the card was done.  Hope you enjoy!

The use of a FRAME is the Less is More 321 Challenge.  A quick and easy card, a green frame over floral card stock, over yellow vellum.  A flower die cut for one corner of my frame and a clear embossed grey word die “Bonne Fête” (Happy Birthday) as the focal point.  The white card base was white heat embossed with a background stamp.Capture d_écran 2017-03-26 à 17.26.24

CASology #241

Capture d_écran 2017-03-21 à 17.13.31You know winter has finished when those tulips start popping up 😉  …even through the snow.  A Penny Black tulip stamp and watercoloured with Zig Clean Brushes, then some masking to add the snow.  A little glass beads for the blooms and Gossy Accents for the stems.  A “smile” word die, that’s what the tulips evoke once they show their beautiful colours.  That’s my take on CASology #241 “MELT!

Mojo 489

Capture d_écran 2017-03-21 à 12.25.41A white & silver card for this week’s Mojo #489, all inspired by Julee’s sketch.  A lot of dry embossing done with a doily die and some scoring.  Two tag die cuts with some silver heat embossing.  A white felt flower with a coiled silver wire for the stem and a silver eyelet for the center adding some silver thread to tie it all together.  Hope you enjoy 😀

CASology “foliage”

Capture d_écran 2017-03-15 à 16.10.52The cue card at CASology #240 is FOLIAGE 😀  Lots of heat embossing in this card starting with the Maple Leaf.  A coat of white, followed by champagne and finally by clear embossing powders were applied.  Using a crackle background stamp, I pressed it into the preheated leaf to get the motif.  The scalloped square was also white heat embossing with the same stamp.  Two white card stock Concord & 9th leaf dies were added to this square die cut.  Natural raphia and jewelry beads were wrapped around this panel before adhering this piece to another scalloped square with it’s edges heat embossed in champagne.  Glued onto a white card base, this card was ready 😉

Half way through March and there’s still some timecapture-decran-2017-01-31-a-10-18-13to play at CAS Mix Up (ends March 24th).  Simple challenge “SMOOSHING“.  Do take a look at the challenge to see lots of great ideas to get you into the smooshing mood 😉  Some great videos can be found too!

For this card, I used 2 Distress stains of Stain Peacock Feathers & Tarnished Brass to which I applied onto my craft sheet and add a touch of acrylic Iridescent Medium.  I grabbed a piece of Bristol paper and smooshed into this mix.  Once dry, I die-cut a stitched square into this piece and also die-cut a piece of vellum one size larger.  Deciding I need some punch I wiped my Versamark pad onto the vellum and proceed to add Pearl Ex powder in Antique Gold.  I polished this piece with a paper towel and then set the powder with a spray watercolour varnish.  It worked 😀 !!!  The card base was stamped with a grid background and white heat embossed.  A Penny Black ARDOR tree was die-cut in white card stock and heat embossed with white Puff Powder.  All the pieces were adhered together and I decided to add a gold eyelet to hang some beads and a die-cut circle heart, cut out of the left over smooshing pieces.  Plus I add the word die “hugs“.

Thanks for stopping by, come join us on the fun…  HUGs joanna-cmu-signatureimg_1424
