capture-decran-2017-01-31-a-10-18-13The March CAS Mix Up Challenge is SMOOOOOOSHING 😛  I know I can’t withhold my excitement since this is such a fun challenge.  Take a look over at the blog since there are lots of suggested technique/videos to get you started.  For this card I used Tombow brushes (#005 & #847) on an acrylic block, spritzed a little water and just smooshed it right onto my base white card stock.  I suggest using Bristol paper since my 110 lb paper didn’t really remain smooth and clean afterwords.  Once dry, I stamped a diamond lattice on top of this mid section and heat embossed with Pearl Champagne embossing powder.  I die cut the hibiscus out of another smooshed piece of card stock and heat embossed the whole flower with UTEE.  The white silver speckled stamen was then adhered while the UTEE was still hot.  White acrylic paint was used for the splatters to jazz up the rest of the card 😉  A piece of household cheese cloth was tucked underneath the blossom and a banner was stamped with the word “Une pensée…”  (A thought) and heat embossed with the same champagne powder.

Can’t wait to see what you post in our inspiring gallery.  Pop on over to see what the other Design Teams members have created to get your juices going.  Hope you join us in the fun, thanks for stopping by, Hugs joanna-cmu-signature

  1. Oh Joanne…another creative, textured freestyle beauty!! I love your smooshed vibrant colors, beautiful flower, cheese cloth scrap and acrylic paint splatters. It has been so inspiring being on the same DT with you my friend. I know I still feel so honored to be a part of Loll and Bonnie’s team. What a gift! Hugs…

  2. You always amaze me with your designs, Joanna! I love the bit of smooshing with the embossed diamonds on top! And that flower is gorgeous! Love the added texture of the cheesecloth too! We are so lucky to have you on our design team!

  3. Your smooshed background and flower are just gorgeous … LOVE the colours! So pretty with the diamond embossing over top of the background. And that cheese cloth adds so much texture — awesome!! Thanks for all you do for CAS Mix Up!! xx
