Christmas keys

A beautiful sketch created by Cécile from Freshly Made SketchesCapture d_écran 2017-11-12 à 16.53.16 #312.  On my card base, I applied red tissue paper on the bottom left corner with Mat Medium.  Then I used an Impression Obsession crackle stamp and gold sparkle heat embossed (from Color Box) over this area.  I also die cut three Cottage Cutz Christmas keys which I carefully heat embossed after colouring with my Zig Clean Color Brushes.  They were placed on a square die cut who’s edges were gold sparkle heat embossed.  The vellum square was stamped with the word “noël” (Christmas) and the whole card came together.

A white Happy Birthday

I’m playing all white for the CAS(E) this Sketch #247Capture d_écran 2017-11-11 à 10.29.00.  Die cutting a circle mask I applied thick glossy gel over the bottom half with a star stencil onto my card base.  Once removed I added  clear Rock Candy Glitter and allowed it to dry.  A strip of white card stock was dry embossed with the Swiss Dot’s folder.  Another strip of vellum, slightly narrower was adhered over the card stock and pasted just above the textured card base.  “Bonne fête” (Happy Birthday) was die cut 4 times and pasted together.  This word die was heat embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder.  Then a tiny balloon was die cut twice for thickness and adhered to the “f” for a celebrating look 😉   Glossy Accents covers the balloon along with a strip on each side of the vellum edges to which I added more clear Rock Candy Glitter.

That’s my take on the challenge, thanks for stopping by, HUGz JoannaIMG_2179

Tiny Christmas

A tiny glittery Christmas tree for theCapture d_écran 2017-11-08 à 14.22.30 CASology Challenge: Week 274 “TINY”.  An Impressions Obsessions tree die cut from red glitter card stock was wrapped with green foil thread adding a green bell for fun.  A star die cut from a piece of shiny white ribbon was adhered to a partially dry embossed card base (Craft concepts “Grunge stripe” folder).  “C’est Noël“, It’s Christmas, was stamped and silver heat embossed.  Finally the tree was glued over the star.

The tiny tree is cut from glitter paper so I’ll put Capture d_écran 2017-10-22 à 13.29.17this in the  CAS Mix Up! gallery.

Happy card making!  Thanks for stopping by, Joanna

Memory Box Challenge #30

Autumn is a time of gratefulness.  This year has Capture d_écran 2017-11-07 à 15.30.32been filled with challenging adventures for me, and I’m so thankful that, for the most part, all had happy endings.  I’ve entered my thank you card into the Memory Box monthly challenge #30 “Thank You” or “merci” 😉   I first started by sprinkling Brushos of purple and leaf green onto Strathmore watercolour paper and spritzing with water.  Once dry I die cut Memory Box’s Long Stem Lavender die in the appropriate colours.  White gel pen added accents for interest.    With two circle dies I made a wonky ring out of lavender pattern cardstock and cut a circle of vellum paper dry embossed with the WeR Memory Keeps Gemstones folder.  The Memory Box Word Die “merci” was die cut several times and adhered to finish the theme.

57e0248d5257c4052766941I’m also adding my “thank you” card to the SSS Thanks/Thanksgiving Monday Challenge 😀

CAS Mix Up November

Capture d_écran 2017-10-22 à 13.29.17It’s a new challenge at the CAS Mix Up Blog for November hosted by Bonnie, “Stamping + Glitter + your choice” 😉 !

I started by using some coarse texture gel on 140lb watercolour paper and applying it with a plastic gift card.  While wet I sprinkled some aqua blue glitter and allowed it to dry.  With a brush, I loosely painted some vintage photo distress ink over the paste and let it run off onto the watercolour paper.  The stamping was done with the same distress ink using MFT’s Art Expression Text clear stamp.  Then I die cut the Heart Parade die from SSS adding the same glitter.  Some cheese cloth was tucked underneath this die before adhering it over the paste.  Finally I added a thick coat of Crackle Accents with in the largest heart and the card was done.
