December CAS Mix Up Reminder

Capture d_écran 2017-11-21 à 10.45.27Two choices to have fun with for the December Cas Mix Up Challenge.  You still have time to play before the 24th and lots of inspiration to be found on the Challenge.

I had to go back to our July Challenge and give tissue paper another try.  On a rectangular piece of Kraft card stock I adhered a holly leaf branch, die-cut 3 times and glued together, allowing some leaves to hang over the edge.  Then I applied a couple of layers of white tissue paper with Matte Medium.  Once dry, I added Color Box’s Frost White Pigment ink over the edges to give it a distress look.  I also added Versamark on the leaves to heat emboss some Sparkle powder, giving them some shimmer.  Then I proceeded to add Liquid Pearls as berries, to which I added red glitter.  A rectangle of red glitter paper was matted behind the Kraft paper to repeat the glitter theme 😉  “Joyeux Noël” (Merry Christmas) was stamped in Versafine black ink and clear heat embossed twice using my Misti (should of done this before adding the berries, can you see? …they got crushed 😦  )  I centered my piece onto AC white card stock.

I hope that Christmas will bring you all a time of family gathering filled with love and peace, may this period by MERRY for all.  Let there be plenty of HOPE!

You will definitely want to see the other Design Team Members & Guest gorgeous creations, hope to see you in our gallery.  MERRY CHRISTMAS joanna-cmu-signatureIMG_2203

CAS Mix Up December Challenge

The December challenge on CAS Mix Up allowsCapture d_écran 2017-11-21 à 10.45.27 two options of your choice + Stamping.  I just went crazy over the choices so I stamped, heat embossed, die-cut, Pearl-Ex, spray inks, used Brushos and watercolours.  My puzzle die was coloured using Brushos (crimson & a bit of lemon), once dried I added a smoosh of Heidi Swapp’s gold color shine spray.  UTEE gave this shiny finish to my die-cut.  I wrapped gold wire along with gold beads to this piece.  As for the card base I stamped leaves from the SSS collection and white heat embossed.  I watercoloured with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors blending some red from the Zig clean color brushes to compliment.  Finally, I stamped “du fond du coeur” (from the bottom of my heart) with Versamark to which I brushed some Aztec Gold Pearl-Ex.  This was then clear heat embossed to stabilize the powder.  I popped up my die cut and adhered it to the center of my leaves which completed my December project.

Do join in on the fun!  There’s plenty of Design Team inspiration to be found on the blog.  Hope to see you there 😉  Thanks for stopping by, Hugsjoanna-cmu-signatureIMG_2200Here’s a close-up 😀  IMG_2201
