Yellow Rose

Capture d_écran 2018-01-15 à 13.04.05A sunny card for Sunday morning.  I’m the host over at CAS Mix Up and this month’s challenge is to use Felt, Cork OR Canvas.  Great videos and DT inspiration to give you ideas 😀

I cut a square out of yellow canvas which I stamped MFT’s Rose background stamp with Spiced Marmelade Oxide ink.  This quite opaque chalky ink gave a very good impression which I couldn’t achieve with other inks.  I then cut a larger square out of white card stock and stamped “Bonne Fête” (Happy Birthday) with the same ink all around the perimeter.  Using a Papersmooches rose die, I cut 4 pieces of orangish card stock, glueing them together with a fifth out of white card stock to which I applied a coat of the Nuvo Glitter Drops.  Once all assembled I added yellow Twine along with two crystal beads.

Thanks so much for stopping by, HAPPY SUNDAY 😉 HUGz

Madame Butterfly

Capture d_écran 2018-02-06 à 16.41.08Thought I’d make a Butterfly card today for the CASology theme: Week 286 along with the CAS Colours & Sketches colours for Challenge #258.  Capture d_écran 2018-02-06 à 16.41.18I died Japanese paper in Wild Wasabi green where I nested a Powder Pink Papillon with a Berry Burst Body.  (PPP & BBB 😉 ..having fun)  The Butterfly, given to me by my friend Bonnie, was clear heat embossed then heat embossed again with Sparkle EP.  White Vellum was adhered to the back and then fussy cut.  Liquid Pearls were used for the body and lastly, three pink rhinestones were added.

Black & Gold

Capture d_écran 2018-02-04 à 20.44.48A quick card for the TIME OUT ChallengeCapture d_écran 2018-02-04 à 20.44.31 #102 and Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #322 by Cécile. Four rectangles out of Glitter, or Glossy pattern card stock assembled together to create a rectangle.  The white heart was stencilled with modelling paste, sprinkled with clear rock candy glitter, and the die cut “LOTS OF ❤ ” , out of gold foil card stock, was added to the bottom left to balance.  A rectangle vellum piece was embossed with a Swiss dots folder to frame it all.

February CAS Mix Up!

Capture d_écran 2018-01-15 à 13.04.05I’m here to present the February challenge over at CAS Mix Up and I’m delighted that it’s my turn to be your host.

This month we’d like you to use either Felt, Cork OR Canvas (but you can use more than one) PLUS use Stamping and one option of  YOUR CHOICE.  These materials can be tricky when die cutting so you’ll find plenty of videos on the blog to give you tips and tricks.

I hand cut a piece of coral canvas, fringed the edges and stamped it with Frost White pigment Color Box Ink using IO’s French Script Cling Stamp.  On my textured card base, I stencilled with modelling paste and splattered some Heidi Swapp gold color shine.  Once dry, a gold foil label was die cut and placed atop using two white eyelets.  The canvas was adhered and a white felt heart, embellished with the left over fringes, was glued on top.  Then the “love” die word from Papersmooches was added just below.  Happy Valentine’s 😉 !

Hope you’ll join the creative team at CAS Mix Up, can’t wait to see your designs.

Thanks for stopping by, HUGz
