Addicted to Gold

ATCAS - code word GOLDSomething with GOLD for the Addicted to CAS Challenge #135.  I used a Pinkfresh Studio FLORAL SQUARE Die, and cut it three times.  I adhered the two first layers onto my textured card base, filled the flower with antique gold micro-beads.  Then the third floral square was glued onto a piece acetate and placed over the beads so as to hold them in place.  A gold ribbon embellished the upper left corner and the word die “Bonne Fête” (Happy Birthday), cut in old gold Japanese paper, was adhered under the frame.

Capture d_écran 2018-04-29 à 13.30.35Spring is wedding season for us, so I chose the Less is More Challenge #370 to influence my nearly all white card.  Using a Technique Tuesday die, I die-cut, in 140 lb water paper, the three attached hearts.  Each one was embellished differently.  The larger heart was clear heat embossed adding iridescent cellophane flakes while hot.  The medium size heart was heat embossed with silver pearl adding an edge of silver EP.  The third smallest Capture d_écran 2018-04-29 à 15.59.41heart has gel paste with clear micro-beads pressed into the medium.  Iridescent cellophane sequins were added with a silver bead in the center.  “Amour” (love) was stamped and heat embossed with silver pearl.

I also entered my card to the Wednesday-Challenge-Winner-0121Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #289 – lot’s of texture but still CAS 😀  And since anything goes over at the Simon Wednesday Challenge, my card will be there.

Wild Mushrooms

Capture d_écran 2018-04-27 à 15.17.36Going WILD for Time Out Challenge #108 Capture d_écran 2018-04-27 à 15.17.26along with Color Throwdown #490 colour palette and CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #269.  I thought wild mushrooms would do the trick for this CAS card. I brayered the pastel palette of pink, lavender, green and light gray onto my Capture d_écran 2018-04-27 à 15.17.15gelliplate and got this distressed look card-stock.  Using Alexandra Renke mushroom dies, I die cut and clear heat embossed my pieces.  Then I die cut a circle into my rectangle vellum, adding a circle frame, from my left over card-stock, and passing it through a We R Memory Keepers Next Level Gemstone folder.  Finally, using the sketch, I placed 5 mushrooms adding Nuvo glitter dots along with white enamel accents from Ranger.  That is as WILD as I got today,  😉  have a great weekend!

Flower Power

57e0248d5257c4052766941What are Mondays for 😀 , especially when there is the Simon Monday Challenge.  This week it’s Flower Power, so I powdered some Yellow and Bright Red Brushos onto a piece of Bristol Paper and spritzed with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Once dry, I added a piece of tissue paper with Matte Medium.  While drying, I  die cut two Spellbinder wreaths, one in textured card stock and the other in Vellum.  With my Copics, I tinted in pink and coral the vellum wreath.  Then I die cut SSS Hydrangea Petals in my textured paper and a few tiny flowers.  On my card base, I stamped and heat embossed in pink and yellow my sentiment:  “les fleurs” (flowers).  Finally, my card was assembled together and liquid Pearls were added for the stamen.

Capture d_écran 2018-04-23 à 17.25.06Since I did stamp the sentiment I’m also entering my card to the Craft Stamper Magazine: Take it Make it Challenge: April with an ANYTHING GOES! theme.

TCPBlinkieAND I just discovered a new blog …for me 😉  It’s called the Cat’s Pajamas, they post a new challenge first Tuesday of the month.  Spring is Challenge #345, so that’s where I also posted my card.

Casology #296

Capture d_écran 2018-04-18 à 10.26.16It’s the Parent theme over at CASolgoy Week 296. On a deckled rectangle die cut, I stamped in pink, grey and desert sand with Waffles Flowers Layering Marble and then clear heat embossed.  Using Penny Black’s Shall We Dance flower die onto pink vellum I adhered the duo onto my panel and added pink sequins.  Maman (Mom) was stamped in grey and clear heat embossed under the silver thread.

A quick card for a new Mom or Mothers’s Day, thanks for stopping by, HUGz, JoannaIMG_2592

Less is More #369

Capture d_écran 2018-04-15 à 15.36.24The Less is More Challenge #369 wants us to “Bring Something Back” from our card making stash.  Lots of great suggestions on the blog to get inspired.

On a Bristol paper card base I added sprinkles of Brushos ( Ost. Blue & Orange) so that my felt die cut boy, with his hidden bouquet of Martha Stewart flowersoft, could be grounded.  A twice heat embossed “Pour Toi” (For You) was stamped to the right.

April CAS Mix Up Reminder

Capture d_écran 2018-03-04 à 16.06.39We’re playing around with the Rubber Band Technique at the CAS Mix Up April Challenge.

For this card I used an acrylic block wrapped with rubber bands and stamped onto my piece of card stock, previously  masked off, using Versamark, so I could clear heat embossed the exposed area.  Then, with the mask still in place, I proceeded to ink blend green and blue Distress Oxide Inks.  The little fishes die cuts, from Impression Obsession, were heat embossed with 2 different embossing powders of green and blue.  I threaded them with green twine and attached them through two green eyelets positioned at the opposite corners of the background.  “Bonne fête Papa” (Happy Birthday Dad) was stamped with Versafine Black Ink and clear heat embossed to prevent the ink from smearing off the already clear embossed areas.

Don’t forget to take a look at all the inspiration from our Design Team including technical videos.  The Challenge ends on the 24th, so you still have time to play 😀  Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz JoannaIMG_2472

This is a quick card with a strip of green cork, die cut from the IO circle Birthday Cutout Set, along with a MFT stitches border die.  The gift was embellished with Martha Stewart aqua iridescent glitter and the “Bonne Fête” (Happy Birthday) was die cut in yellow glitter card stock (a white word die was added to create highlights underneath).   The base is textured white card stock from American Crafts.

Blue Rose

Playing along at Less is More Challenge #368 CASE Card by Aileen368 CASECardCapture d_écran 2018-04-09 à 17.50.27

I started with 300 lb watercolour paper by die cutting it with the Penny Black Rose Die, and adding Cobalt Blue on the edges (wet on wet) of the rose.  Once dry, I added some paint splatters and clear heat embossed twice, finishing with a coat of Sparkling EB.   I also die cut a piece of silver foil card stock and added the stem, leaves and a section of the rose.  “juste pour toi” (Just for you) was stamped and silver heat embossed twice using my Misti.

This card got ShowCASed for the month of April at the Less is More Challenge.  Thank you for the recognition! …and a BIG Congratulations to all the other finalistes, so many beauties to be seen  😀

I’m also entering my card to the SSS Monday Challenge “Mythology/Inspired By A Storybase on the Chinese legend of the Princess and the Blue Rose that you can read here.
