April CAS Mix Up

Capture d_écran 2018-03-04 à 16.06.39Welcome back to the CAS Mix Up Challenge, this month we’re using “the rubber band technique”.  Pop on over to see what the Design Team has created and to view a couple of videos to get you started.

I played with the rubber bands wrapped around an acrylic block and a Gelli Plate.  The background was made by stamping off the Tombow brush yellow greens off the Gelli Plate and the Ginkgo leaf die cuts are the mono prints left after stamping off.   The different shades of leaves were achieved by the number of pulls off the Gelli Plate.  I accentuated the textures of each leaf with a clear star Sakura Gelly Roll pen.  Finally, I contoured the background with an MFT rectangle stitched frame die cut and stampedet le Meilleur est maintenant à venir” (the Best is yet to come).

Can’t wait to see your scrumptious creations in our gallery.  Thanks for stopping by, HUGz Joanna

  1. Gorgeous look with these green rubber band designs as a background for the fab gingko flowers tucked in the corner. Love how you’ve framed the whole scene, and it’s just beautiful. TFS

  2. The pretty scalloped frame shows off the rubber band pattern in those pretty shades of green Joanna, and the gingko leaves have been beautifully coloured via the gelli plate, and then given a pretty sparkly gloss with the Sakura pen, and love the sentiment in French. I must get my gelli plate out again, I tend to forget all about it until I see something like this which makes me want to use it again. x

  3. This background is so pretty, Joanna! It reminds me of the new leaves popping out on the trees behind our house! And the ginkgo leaves are gorgeous with the shading and highlighting of the veins! Love this!

  4. I love the shades of green and the soft rubber band images, Joanna! Your Ginko leaves are amazing! You’ve worked on details so well that the leaves look gorgeous and realistic.
I’ve never used Gelli Plate, but if it gives you something like this beauty, I would love to learn how to use it! 🙂
