December CAS Mix Up!

Capture d_écran 2018-09-25 à 15.07.41Welcome back for our last 2018 CAS Mix Up Challenge.  This month of December Loll is attacking “EMBOSS RESIST” + stamping + your choice listed on the side bar.

Please NOTE that the December challenge will run Dec. 2 – 15, closing at at midnight (PDST), to provide two well deserved weeks off for all Design Team members during this busy time of year.  Winner and Outstanding Designs will be announced on December 18th.

For this ornament, I splattered generously, slightly watered down, matte medium onto 140lb watercolour paper.  While still wet, I covered with clear EP and heated, this creates a resist of the droplets.  I then sprinkled and spritzed Ost. Blue Brushos.  Once dry, I die cut the SSS hydrangea blooms and also cut them out of vellum paper.  The bow is a Penny Black die and the thin frame circle is from Altenew.  Of course I stamped the Tengucho paper with the Penny Black Woodland stamp and white heat embossed.  Before adhering all the pieces onto my textured card stock, I added a few sprinkles of the Ost. Blue Brushos to bring out the white embossed stamping on the Tengucho paper.

Be sure to visit the blog to see what fantastic inspiration the design team has created.  Our talented guest Bozena has something special for you.   Don’t forget to visit their blogs, you may find new discoveries 😉

I hope that the Festive Season will bring you all a time of family gathering filled with love and peace.  May this period be MERRY for all and let there be plenty of KINDNESS!   Thanks for stopping by, warm Christmas HUGz,

Joanna

  1. Beautiful card Joanna. Love how you’ve emboss resist in two different ways. The colours from the Brushos are so pretty and delicate, which works perfect with the addition of vellum and Tengucho paper. Awesome! xx

  2. Love the combination of the two different emboss resist techniques! I never would have thought to add embossing powder to matte medium – and what a great way to create a splatter resist pattern! Beautiful blue hydrangea flowers and a wonderful bit of background on the Tengucho paper.

  3. Two ways to use the emboss resist technique, Jo! Love the splattered flowers and the stamping and embossing on the Tengucho paper is brilliant! Love that narrow circle frame that makes a perfect wreath! Your message at the end of the post is so inspiring. How lovely! We do need more kindness in this world! Fortunately our card making community is a kind and supportive little piece of the world.
