Capture d_écran 2018-11-10 à 12.50.04Welcome back to the mid month Nancy’s Bokeh reminder at CAS Mix Up!  There’s still plenty of time to play, the linky closes at midnight (PDST) on Thursday the 24th of January.  Add stamping and your choice listed on the blog’s sidebar and show us your take on the Bohek experience 😀  The video’s posted will surely get you going along with our special guest designer, Viv.  Our talented host, Nancy, will be moving to the new CAS Stencil Card casstencilChallenge, we will definitely miss her at CAS Mix Up!

This is a new technique to me which got me trying so many approaches.  For the first card, using my Misti, I stamped the Penny Black Dreamy flower in light pink.  This aloud me to follow the bloom section.  I used an old stamp set from SSS called lots of dots and stamped this whole area in different pinks.  Once satisfied, I sponged this whole surface with the light pink ink.  Finally I added the white pigment ink, but with the saturated paper I just couldn’t get any white ink definition, so I added some white EP.  To finish, I restamped the flower with Versafine ink, maintaining the heart clean.  This was silver heat embossed and left me with this result.img_3587

For the second card, I used a black 5,5″x7,5″ piece of card stock, a homemade stencil and my gelli plate.  Using Pébéo acrylics in the colours of turquoise blue, primary yellow and azo pink, I covered the entire card stock so that I could chose parts where the result was the best.  Once finished I sponged some ColorBox white pigment ink using the same DIY circle stencil.  My mojo wasn’t very creative so this card’s design is one I’ve made in the past …yup I got boggled by the darkness of my Bokeh 😛   My black panel was then die cut with MFT’s Die-namics Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Windows and paper pieced  into white textured card base previously die cut.  I used my Misti to stamp Around the Edge by Dylusions with Versamark.  The inserts were carefully removed so that I could black heat emboss the white card stock and white heat emboss the black Bokeh.  Using a black Zig marker, I shaded the white leaves and added some Wink of Stella to the black leaves.   A thick coat of Glossy accents was applied after the inserts were mounted on 4 layers of card stock and paper pieced into place.  Seven tiny black sequined flowers were adhered.  Sorry for the long resumé, but I have to admit, it was a fun journey.

Remember to pop by the CAS Mix Up blog for delicious creations from the team and our Guest Designer.  Do join us on this fun technique.  Thanks for stopping by, HUGz,
