Hearty Hibiscus

I love Cécile’s Freshly Made Sketch Design #398 along with Color Throwdown #553 Colour palette Orange, Pink, and Yellow!. For this technique I used Pearl Ex for the SHIMMER over at CASology Week #348. The hibiscus die cut is from Memory Box, the word die from technique Tuesday and the BG stripped stamp from Lime Citron. I’m also entering my card in the Memory Box Challenge #51 “Striped Cards. Thanks for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

A bouquet for Bonnie

July 2019This is a special BIRTHDAY card for my dear, sweet friend, Bonnie.  She is, also, the important other half, behind the CAS community scene.

The Papersmooches vase die was dry embossed onto 140lb cold press watercolour paper.  I masked the top rim to be able to stamp MFT‘s silhouette flowers, with my Misti, of course.  I used Daniel Smith watercolour paints and then embellished with my white & glitz gel pens.  A piece of Japanese lace paper was die cut and adhered with matte medium onto the card.  A Technique Tuesday stamp “you are amazing” was stamped and silver heat embossed along with part of the sunflower stem to ground the bouquet.

Do join in on the “flower bouquet” challenge at the CAS Watercolour blog.

Happy Birthday sweet Bonnie!

July CAS Mix Up Reminder 2019

Capture d’écran 2019-06-19 à 08.31.00Half way through the challenge, there’s some time to play with Bonnie’s CAS Mix Up Challenge theme of  Alcohol Ink Lift.  Our Special Guest Michelle and the design team have come up with some pretty cool cards to get you started.

For these cards I usedIMG_4238 a Hero Arts Konnichiwa Floral Blossom stamp to “lift” alcohol ink off Yupo Paper and then placed the ink onto the cardstock.  I heat embossed both the Yupo and cardstock before assembling these cards.  My first was the blue where I rubbed instead of dabbed the Alcohol ink, UGH, so I rescued the piece by white embossing the Yupo.  The second, I forgot to completely clean my stamp so I had left over blue ink (on the left side) which I stamped onto the IMG_4237white window card.  Finally the third was the one I was truly happy with.  This technique creates interesting impressions full of colour, once you keep in mind all the steps.  The Peek a Boo window die cut is from MFT.

The challenge is really worth giving it a try.  Can’t wait to see your CAS cards in our gallery.  Thank you so much for stopping by, HUGs,

Linda‘s #396 sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches truly appealed to me. I grabbed a card base, die cut the centre with a rectangle stax die. I striped stamped the parameter and silver pearl heat embossed. I dry embossed the middle and also silver pearl heat embossed. After paper piecing it all together I added an IO LOVE word die out of Origami paper, added a rhinestone star and the card was done.

Pink Bloom

A rainy day is a craft day, heck everyday is a craft day 😛 . The TIME OUT Challenge #139 “Inspired by Words” fit my pink, gold and black card, the colour scheme at Color Throwdown #551 Challenge.

I pasted two layers of pink tissue paper on my card base and allowed it to dry. Then, I stamped, in black Versafine, the flower from Kesi’Art. This was WOW clear heat embossed after adding a little Gansai Tambi Starry gold watercolour. I die cut a frame made with Nellie Snellen square stackables which I also gold watercoloured and clear heat embossed. “Juste un petit mot” (Just a little note) …of encouragment inside, was stamped and clear heat embossed.

Thanks for stopping by, have a HAPPY day, HUGz, Joanna

You Make it Happen

July 2019This card is for the special lady behind the CAS scenes.  Thank you Loll for instigating all of this collective creativity and stimulating new avenues to card making.  Your talent goes beyond card making, in fact, YOU make it happen.  This CAS Watercolour bouquet is for You!

I used the hydrangea in Penny Black Blooming Garden stamp set over Bristol paper.  Memento Inks, Daniel Smith watercolours, white gel pen, clear & gold pearl heat embossing, IO word die, MFT sentiment and some gold speckled tengujo tissue were used to make this card.  The CAS Watercolour Challenge would like to see your bouquet for this summer 😉

Thanks for stopping by, warm HUGz, JoannaIMG_4296

Inkspirational Hugs

Capture d’écran 2019-07-05 à 10.06.29Truly a quick card for the Inkspirational Challenge #190 “Designer’s choice – Three or Five of something!

I had this colourful left over of gelli print and die cut some Alexandra Renke grasses.  The Altenew circle frame was white pearl heat embossed and the stems were tied together with some cobalt twine.  The SSS word die hugs was die cut in cobalt glitter paper and adhered to vellum.  A little blue acrylic paint was added to accent here and there.

Blooming Bouquet

July 2019This is a special BIRTHDAY card for Darnell.  It’s a sunflower duo from the Penny Black Blooming Garden stamp set.  This bouquet was watercolored with Daniel Smith paints onto 140 lb cold press paper, then clear heat embossed.  Some Japanese Tengujo tissue was added, with matte medium, to mute the BG around the blooms, and to add some texture. The Technique Tuesday stamp “simple joys” was gold heat embossed onto a leaf die cut.

Do join in on the CAS Watercolour challenge, this month, the theme is “bouquet of flowers“.

“Happy Birthday dear Darnell”

July CAS Mix Up 2019

Capture d’écran 2019-06-19 à 08.31.00The CAS Mix Up Challenge for July, hosted by Bonnie, is Alcohol Ink Lift.  As usual, there are plenty of videos to get you started.   For more inspiration, our special guest, Michelle, and the team have more designs to entice your creative juices.

For this card I used an old fanfare stamp (sorry I don’t remember the manufacture).  I applied two analogous colours of AI on Yupo Paper and then lifted the ink using the Alcohol Ink-Lift pad.  On my textured card base, I stamped and silver heat embossed the same stamp.  I strategically die-cut a square section off the Yupo piece and adhered it to a prepared section of very thick card stock.  I also clear heat embossed several times my little tile before adhering it to the card base.  Three enamel dots were added to finish my card.

Can’t wait to see what you create, thanks so much for stopping by, HUGs,
