Blooming Bouquet

July 2019This is a special BIRTHDAY card for Darnell.  It’s a sunflower duo from the Penny Black Blooming Garden stamp set.  This bouquet was watercolored with Daniel Smith paints onto 140 lb cold press paper, then clear heat embossed.  Some Japanese Tengujo tissue was added, with matte medium, to mute the BG around the blooms, and to add some texture. The Technique Tuesday stamp “simple joys” was gold heat embossed onto a leaf die cut.

Do join in on the CAS Watercolour challenge, this month, the theme is “bouquet of flowers“.

“Happy Birthday dear Darnell”

  1. Oh, Jo, your work is incredible! You should move to canvas and sell your paintings, if you don’t already! At the very least, this needs to be framed and I’m honored to by connected to it via this amazing surprise tribute for my birthday! You’ve all made the start of my seventh decade very special and I appreciate it very much!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

  3. Love the way you added the Tengujo tissue – it gives the impression of the tissue florists use to wrap bouquets! Beautiful soft colours, wonderfully painted!
