Half way through the challenge, there’s some time to play with Bonnie’s CAS Mix Up Challenge theme of Alcohol Ink Lift. Our Special Guest Michelle and the design team have come up with some pretty cool cards to get you started.
For these cards I used a Hero Arts Konnichiwa Floral Blossom stamp to “lift” alcohol ink off Yupo Paper and then placed the ink onto the cardstock. I heat embossed both the Yupo and cardstock before assembling these cards. My first was the blue where I rubbed instead of dabbed the Alcohol ink, UGH, so I rescued the piece by white embossing the Yupo. The second, I forgot to completely clean my stamp so I had left over blue ink (on the left side) which I stamped onto the
white window card. Finally the third was the one I was truly happy with. This technique creates interesting impressions full of colour, once you keep in mind all the steps. The Peek a Boo window die cut is from MFT.
The challenge is really worth giving it a try. Can’t wait to see your CAS cards in our gallery. Thank you so much for stopping by, HUGs,
What a beautiful card and two great saves, Joanna! The AI colors are wonderful and I like both the red and blue versions. I (and many card-makers) relate to your process of making these three cards and I enjoyed reading it.
It was worth it, wasn’t it?
I love the way you stamped the image on the frame with lifted ink and the alignment is perfect! I completely forgot about using my lifted ink for both of my cards this month. ;-P

Enjoyed seeing your process with your first two attempts (which I think are really beautiful), but I can see what you mean bout the third one being the best. It is so beautiful with the deep colours and the gorgeous ghosted image of the roses from lifting ink. So clever to add thos to the white frame. You always come up with the best designs, my friend! xx

Beautiful AI lift Jo, and love how you framed your rose image. I think the blue is my favourite 🙂

The third time is a charm, Joanna! You’ve saved the first two tries though and they are great cards too! Love the rose image and how you’ve used both the lift and the stamped images with that frame! Awesome, my sweet friend!

Wow, what a fabulous effect! I still haven’t tried this. The image you chose is so perfect for this and great save on the leftover ink on the stamp. i’d never think to do that. I love both of these. Thanks for describing your process too.

Interesting to see your first attempts (I must say I really like the blue one). Your third attempt is perfect! Love the way the centre is framed with the stitched die and part of the image.
