August CAS Mix Up 2019

Welcome back to a new technique at CAS Mix Challenge. The Paper Towel technique is a beautiful way to create special textured backgrounds. It’s also a great way to reuse the inks mopped up by those paper towels left to dry. There’s a video and plenty of inspiration to be found on the blog by the design team. Our Guest Designer this month is Betty!

For this card I stamped a W plus 9 Summer Bloom, added sticky embossing powder and Gilded Flakes. For the heart, I stamped Peacock OI, again added sticky embossing powder and cover with clear Rock Candy crystals. With a paint brush I added some of the same OI to shade the bloom. Then some Liquid Pearls were added for dimension. Can you believe that this is a one layer card? Sometimes I surprise even myself!

Pop on over to the CAS Mix Up to get your creative juices going. Can’t wait to see your beautiful cards. Thanks for stopping by, Hugs,

  1. Gorgeous paper towel ink transfer technique for your background, Joanna. I love how you added so much beautiful texture with your gilded flakes and sticky EB Powders. TFS my friend. Hugs..Nancy

  2. What a wonderful one-layer card, Joanna! You got the paper towel texture so well and it adds so much interest. The contrast of the shiny Gilded Flakes flower and the soft paper towel background is amazing, and the way you added the Liquid Pearls is so pretty!

  5. AMAZING one layer card Joanna! It has so much depth and texture that it looks like multiple layers. Great saturation to get a wonderfu paper towel transfer for the background. The gilding flakes are gorgeous and so is the center of the flower with the blue embossing and crystal glitter. xx
