Pearlescent Leaves

It’s a Double Challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches #364, so being confined to my craft room I’m a happy camper.

My favourite leaf stamp, Dylusions FURTHER AROUND THE EDGE Stamp Set, was stamped several times onto Bristol Paper and then heat embossed with Silver pearl EP. I made this card twice 😛 , because I learnt that when using Zig markers, the colours tend to fade/change colour/or disappear with Glossy Accents. On my second attempt, I used Tombow brushes and clear heat embossed. Some liquid pearl dots were added for the texture theme at Addicted to CAS Challenge #181.

Two for One

An all white card for the Less is More Challenge #416 and AAA Cards Case Game #162. I used Memory Box’s Leaf Outline Die to die cut and, at the same time, create a stencil by using the negative. On my card base, I partially die cut MFT’s Stitchable Dot Circle. Using my homemade stencil I applied Versamark within the circle and White Pearl heat embossed. Then I glued the die on top and added a pearl thread for interest. Quick and easy.

Retro 70’s

This was a toughie, still not sure, …but here goes! Inspired by the chair photo challenge at Inkspirational #209, I used the CAS(E) this Sketch #365 design.

Some stripe stamping, some ink blending, with Sizzix Atomic Element for a border, along with a string of leaves. This just may be my Father’s Day card 😉

Fly Butterfly

Craftroom bound makes for a Happy Crafter. So I’m into the shades of Purple, starting off with Lilac. Playing to the tune of Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #428; Color Throwdown Challenge #586 and TIME OUT Challenge #158.

For this card I used Tombow Markers to shade some Vellum (yes it will curl 😉 ). Then I glitz heat embossed the two pieces of Lilac and Purple and die cut butterflies with Memory Box’s Pinpoint Butterfly Trio. I used an Altenew fine circle frame over some textured card stock. The white heat embossed sentiment is also from Memory Box call Big & Little Words over a strip of Tombow coloured card stock.

Like most of the world we are confined to our homes. Hubby and I take daily walks and noticed all the rainbow artwork in the home’s windows. Talking to our twin granddaughters, they explained that this mouvement originated from a Lady in Italy who placed a rainbow in her shop window #çavabienaller (everythingwillbeOK). This reminds me of a Maya Angelou quote: “Every storm runs out of rain” 😀

Back to the card, lots of zig markers in rainbow colours for the heart stem bouquet (IO) along with a rainbow vase (Papersmooches). Of course, all were heated embossed in clear and glitz embossing powders. This was adhered to a doily die dry embossed card base with a silver gel pen contour where I hand wrote #çavabienaller. Sending this card to the girls and entering in the CAS Colours & Sketches #363 and Perfectly CAS Challenge #7.

March CAS Mix Up Reminder 2020

Acrylic Paints are the fun technique that Jenny is hosting this month at CAS Mix Up! For these cards I used some Acrylic Pigment inks. There are lots of videos on the blog, along with inspiration from the design team and our special guest Betty.

We’re celebrating our 4th anniversary and we’ve got Prizes:

  • Prizes$25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp for Challenge Winner
  • $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp for one random draw of all entries(must follow rules to be eligible for prizes)

I added a drop of two different Izink, cactus & bamboo, onto some 140lb watercolour paper. With a water sprayer, I spritzed the inks to get them moving and waited for them to dry. I stamped twice, a Stamplorations Mixed Media Grunge and Emerald heat embossed. Using a Pink Fresh Studio floral frame die cut, I adhered it over the coloured area adding two vellum blooms. Three Pearls were added to embellish.

For the second card I spritzed acrylic inks. Once dry, I stamped the leafy branch and butterfly with Versamark adding gold pearl EP. An Alexandra Renke Magic Flower die cut in pink was added along with some Stickles (remember those?).

Can’t wait to see you in our gallery, thanks for stopping by,

The multi colours in the TIME OUT photo Challenge #156 inspired this card using the design at CAS(E) this Sketch #362. I candied the Memory Box Chloe Stem with Zig markers covered with Nuvo Crystal Drops. For the base, I stencilled some Golden Iridescent Pearl acrylic paint using a Tim Holtz stripes stencil. A “Bonne Fête” word die by McCollection was pearlized and the banners were coloured repeating the same method as the bloom.

Easter Bunny

The Color Throwdown #583 palette made me think, Oh spring! …Oh Easter 😀 So using the Freshly Made Sketches #425, I die cut 3 Papersmooches flag banners in pink, orange and blue. Then using a Hippity Hop Bunny die from Taylored Expressions, which I white pearl heat embossed 3 times, I adhered the “wabbit” onto 4 layers of the orange version. Some Liquid Pearls and a white feather were added to embellish and the card was done 😉 .

Maxi White Space

That’s the theme at AAA Cards Game #160. I do love white cards too. For this quick card, I dry embossed a circle die to create a frame. Then I stamped through a circle stencil, made from the same die, a very old Inka Meadow stamp and Platinum heat embossed. The sentiment “Amitié” (Friendship) was also Platinum heat embossed. To finish, I applied a thin coat of white pearl Starry watercolour within the embossed circle.

March CAS Mix Up 2020

Welcome back to a brand new CAS Mix Up Challenge hosted this month by Jenny! We’re getting messy and playing with Acrylic Paint. Remember to get back to the blog for videos and great inspiration from our design team and our special guest designer Betty.

We’re celebrating our 4th anniversary and we’ve got Prizes:

  • $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp for Challenge Winner
  • $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp for one random draw of all entries(must follow rules to be eligible for prizes)

I started by die cutting a Spellbinders’ deckled rectangle out of a gelli print of copper, gray, raw sienna hues. Using my Misti, I then copper heat embossed the card base with these three Inkadinkado skeleton leaf stamps. I then repeated the stamping onto my gelli print piece and white heat embossed. Adding some copper thread before adhering this die cut to the card base, I also dropped some Liquid Pearls along the sides for interest.

Hoping to see in our CAS Mix Up Gallery, thanks so much for stopping by,
