March CAS Mix Up 2020

Welcome back to a brand new CAS Mix Up Challenge hosted this month by Jenny! We’re getting messy and playing with Acrylic Paint. Remember to get back to the blog for videos and great inspiration from our design team and our special guest designer Betty.

We’re celebrating our 4th anniversary and we’ve got Prizes:

  • $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp for Challenge Winner
  • $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp for one random draw of all entries(must follow rules to be eligible for prizes)

I started by die cutting a Spellbinders’ deckled rectangle out of a gelli print of copper, gray, raw sienna hues. Using my Misti, I then copper heat embossed the card base with these three Inkadinkado skeleton leaf stamps. I then repeated the stamping onto my gelli print piece and white heat embossed. Adding some copper thread before adhering this die cut to the card base, I also dropped some Liquid Pearls along the sides for interest.

Hoping to see in our CAS Mix Up Gallery, thanks so much for stopping by,

  1. Simply stunning! Love the mix of colours combined with the metallics and the way you have also stamped and heat embossed the leaves directly onto the card base. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. LOVE this design Joanna. The skelton leaves are gorgeous and I love how you’ve embossed them in both copper and white with them “outside the box”. Beautiful background to show them off. And the pearls add a little something special to finish the design. Very artistic and beautiful! xx

  5. Wow, this is a piece of art, Joanna! I love this card!
What a gorgeous copper panel you created! And I love the 2-tone heat-embossed skeleton leaves. They look amazing! The copper thread and the matching Liquid Pearls finish the card perfectly.

  6. Love the way the leaves go off the edge of the acrylic panel – and the way you used different colours of embossing powder for on the acrylic panel and on the card base.

  7. I admit I studied this for a long time and I’m in awe that you managed to stamp the leaves on the card base and have your panel line up perfectly straight. Somehow I don’t see that happening here. This is quite an incredible card and a masterpiece in creativity. Just gorgeous!
