A quick OLC for the Cécile’sFreshly Made Sketches Challenge #437 and the Color Throwdown Colour Palette Challenge #595. The Altenew “HAPPY” letters were stamped with turquoise water colour and allowed to drip down. The Memory Box “birthday” and the Stampendous agapanthus bloom were stamped in Versafine Black. A Micron pen was used to doodle around the letters and some turquoise liquid pearls along with Nuvo drops were added for embellishment.
Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna
This card is a composition of die cuts and heat embossing. The bicycle is from Tattered Angels and the foliage/birds are from Impression Obsession. The stamped sentiment is from Penny Black. Hope you’ll join in on the fun.
Going dotty over at the “Less is More” OLC Challenge #420. Out came a PB die to make a stencil. Then all it took is ink and made lots of dots. I finished the bloom with some ink blending and then clear heat embossing. Quick and fun.
Hope you are all well in Mind & in Body, take card, HUGz, Joanna
So thrilled and honoured to be a guest designer at TIME OUT. The theme is “we challenge you to be FREE“! I’ll always remember the “free spirit” felt when my girlfriend and I would go out dancing in the fields, alone with nature, and filling our hearts with positive energy.
This is a quick card. For all my die cuts, I used my gelli plate, and loaded them up with some iridescent medium. The rectangle die cut (Nellie Snellen) was sponged with blue jeans Distress Oxide ink and stamped with MFT’s Flower Silhouettes set. The girls, a die from Spellbinders called “Every day’s is a happy day”, were left naturel along with the Smile word die from Studio Light.
Thank you Sandie and the fabulous TO team for allowing me join in on the fun.
…this pandemic is here to teach us what is important in our lives. How do we find meaning in all of this scary craziness? Hoping you are finding some kind of peace from within.
Card making is a form of zen meditation for me, I hope this is the same for you. This OLC is a combo of dry embossing a Poppy Stamps Peony Bud given to me by Bonnie, a dear friend. AND heat embossing with Weathered White and White Pearl embossing powders. The card is for the Memory Box Challenge #61 “May Flowers” and a soft white/cream challenge at Less is More #419.
Take care, wishing you peace and wellness, HUGz, Joanna
I stamped with some gesso a wood stamp onto mix media paper. Once dry, I applied some Distress stains with the dobber top…remember those? I heat embossed an old spoon from Spellbinders Home Spun Shapeabilities set. The cherry die cuts are modified branches from the Little B Bouquet set, also heat embossed in red and embellished with some Glossy Accents. The vellum leaves are from this same set. The “Merci” (Thank you) die cut is so appropriate right now in this time of gratitude towards essential workers of the Pandemic.
Hope you are all well, both physically and mentally. Thank you “Merci” for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna
I made a die cut stencil with a McCollection feather die and kept both pieces. After dry embossing the feather onto my OLC, I placed the feather and it’s negative so as to sponge some Gesso onto the tiny apertures. Once dry, I left the negative in place and ink blended some Delicata Gold Ink and some Red dye ink. Then, I replaced the positive adding some Versamark (pen), here and there, over certain openings. After heating the tacky embossing powder, some gilded flakes were applied. I also sprinkled some grains of UTEE and heat embossed. Using a gold gel pen, I did some free hand doodling. Finally, I stamped “coucou!” in the same Delicata Gold Ink.
Do join in on the fun! Hoping to see you in our Gallery, HUGz,
That’s the theme over at the CAS Christmas Card Challenge “Winter Berries“. My good friend, Bonnie, inspired this card. When I saw the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge, I did like OPRAH -> ” AHA” 😀 Using the Sizzix Holiday Greens dies, I die cut the holly one out of watercolour paper, added colour and then applying some crackle paste. I used the pine die-cut as a stencil and added some sponging on the card base. The white strip is a PB geometric border. The berries were die-cut and clear heated embosses and the card was done.
