July CAS Mix Up 2020

My good friend Loll sent me a stencil a while back, made from a SSS Birch Tree Window die. The July CAS Mix Up, hosted by Nancy, is challenging us to do some stencil tracing. I ink blended some DOX inks over some Bristol paper in the tones of Broken China, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint. I removed the stencil and hand drew, with a black Micron pen one side of the birch trees. Some grey water colours were added to the same edge. A Spellbinder tag was tinted in Broken China and stamped with a Technique Tuesday stamp in Versafine black ink.

I hope you’ll check out the CAS Mix Up blog to see some amazing cards from our Designers, Guest Designers, and, of course YOU 😀 . Thanks for stopping by, HUGz,

Summer Splash

A summer card playing to the tone of CASology “pool” theme and the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #381. A little AIs on Vellum and some die cutting of a duckie and Elizabeth Craft Designs chains. The word die “allô” has a double sense in its French pronunciation meaning Hello OR in the water🤣

Poppy Splash

Flower cards are my favourite of all. This special poppy card is for a special lady who loves watercolour blooms. I’m playing with three challenges Uniko Challenge #60; the Flower Challenge #46 and AAA cards challenge #170.

This is a Technique Tuesday stamp lightly stamped in gray and drawn over with a micron pen. Zigs to colour and splash and some WOW glitter EP to make it shine.

July CAS Mix Up 2020

Nancy, our gracious host, is challenging us to do some stencil tracing for the July CAS Mix Up! Remember to head over to the blog for inspiring cards from the design team and our special guest.

For this card I started with TCW Small Cone Flowers stencil, doing partial ink blending for the spotlighting square die cut and some stencil tracing for the rest of the bloom. The stem was also ink blended. The bloom was heat embossing with some glitz EP and the stem with clear EP. I mounted this onto coloured card stock adding layers of the same colour under the ink blended square die cut. To highlight the flower I added some Liquid Pearls. I also ink blended white card stock with the same green as the stem and stamped/white heat embossed a Memory Box sentiment “sweet friend”.

Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz,

Diagonally

Creativity is like a muscle, it has to be exercised regularly 😀 I wanted to play with the Less is More Challenge #423 (Fuchsia, Yellow & Grey) along with the Freshly Made Sketches #443 by Lee Ann. After 3 attempts I came up with this clean design. I masked the top and bottom with two triangles before stamping with MFT’s grid background and white heat embossing. To define the edges I score this card base. Then I die cut, in grey, a Wildflower stem by Sizzix. The Memory Box Pinpoint Butterfly Trio was die cut in fuchsia vellum and glitter heat embossed. Yellow twine was attached to the flutter and I was finally satisfied with the end result.

Keep SAFE all, hope you are well, take care, HUGz, Joanna

Thank you LIM for the recognition, so much fun playing to your challenges 😀

Maeve Jocelyne

Playing with the Memory Box Challenge #63 Framed. A little feminine card to welcome a brand new baby girl. For this card I used the Stitched Squares from Memory Box, cut out of gold foil paper.

I added some modelling paste over a homemade heart stencil from IO to textured card stock. I soaked the feather and Japanese lace paper with some pink ink and allowed it to dry. The crown is a Papersmooches Christmas bauble top die cut turned upside down 😉 The pearlescent teddy bear is from Alexandra Renke, the pink vellum label strip from MFT and the tiny cut letters from Die-Versions.

Hope you are staying SAFE, thanks for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna
