Gifts of …

Sending gifts to a special birthday girl: Hope, Happiness, Love and the best of Health. Loll is hosting a virtual birthday party for our mutual friend, Susan, who’s celebrating her 70th Birthday and I’m thrilled to play along. This one layer card was stamped and gold heat embossed with an NBUS Stampendous gift stamp set. I was inspired by the Just Us Girls #564 – Photo Week. I watercoloured the image using Finetec pearlescent colours. I then grounded these packages with an ordinary HB pencil. Playing along with the LIM OL festive challenge #433 and Darnell’s NBUS November Challenge #40.

Hoping you have a great day, dear Susan, on this special milestone in life. Thank you so much for stopping by, stay SAFE and strong, HUGz, Joanna

Burgundy tree

Ok a Quick funky card for three challenges: Color Throwdown Challenge #620; CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #399 & TIME OUT Challenge #175. A Fremont Pine Outline from Poppystamps, heat embossed with burgundy EP adhered onto a strip of dry embossed vanilla card stock. The square light aqua vellum was added but my tree was floating because of the embossed strip, so I added a piece of aqua glitter paper behind and resolved my issue. A burgundy wire with a burgundy bead was added for interest.

Non traditional Xmas

Playing with the Colours & Sketches Challenge #397 colour scheme for the Non tradition colours for Christmas at CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

A Papersmooches Stocking die cut in Purple Posy card stock was embellished with Diamond Dust & Blackberry Bliss glitter. The card base was stamped in basic gray with a Technique Tuesday Fanfare stamp and then glitz heat embossed. Some MFT stars were glitz heat embossed and adhered. The winter lighting here doesn’t make for great photographs…but a round tiny snow flake landed on my card just to the right of the top of my stocking LOL.

November CAS Mix Up Reminder 2020

A reminder card for Bonnie’s “Off the Edge” watercolour CAS Mix Up Challenge. Hope you’ll join us in our gallery.

With Christmas around the corner I thought I’d make two identical cards but on different card stock. Both were stamped, masked & heat embossed (gold & clear) at the same time using a Heartfelt Creations Petite Poinsettia. The center was die cut with a Nellie Snellen rectangle die and this section was painted with Gansai Tambi Starry colours. The edges of these die cuts were also gold heat embossed. Some gold splatters, dots of gold glitter and a noël word die cut in glitter paper were added to embellish.

For the third card I used MFT’s Stylish Snowflakes to die cut 7 flakes out of watercolour paper. Each was watercolored again with Gansai Tambi Starry Colours. They were threaded with gold thread and hung off the edge of a navy blue card panel. Four Memory Box Crisp Bow die cuts were stacked up and a few coats of red glitter EP was added. Finally some gold splatters were made for interest.

There’s still to play, thanks for stopping by 😉

HAPPY HOLIDAYs to all, hoping the New Year brings Hope and lots of Health …that is the greatest gift of all. Warm virtual HUGz!

OH my stars

Making two cards at a time, so why not give a whirl to the Twofer Card Challenge #33 ~ STARS! and using the design over at the CAS(E) this Sketch #398. The STAR of the show is a die from Lil inker Designs stitched stars. The star trio is white pearl embossed letters with die cuts out of iridescent cellophane flakes glued on acetate. The gold star aperture is embellished with Christmas icons from IO and Memory Box.

I made two card for the CASology Week #378 STAG with the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #396 design. I just couldn’t decide. Two die cuts watercolored and a layer of crackle paste. The base was splattered and the other one scored.

Gilded heart

Moving fast forward beyond our COVID Christmas to my Special Valentine Man 😀 The colour combo theme over at Less is More Challenge #432 has two choices for us to play with. This quick card has Nellie Snellen dies for the dry embossing and for the red and gold inchies with a MFT heart die cut. “pour toi” (for you) is a French stamp from a local shop, stamped and white heat embossed.

Tagged Poinsettia

Using the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #395 and the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #460 as my inspiration. The Large Sizzix tag was embellished using a Memory Box Distressed Windham collage die. Then this piece was heat embossed with glitz EP. The poinsettia is a mix of Spellbinders and Tattered Lace die cuts. The strip is from the Holiday Knit kit from Sizzix. The yellow Prills are from my good friend Bonnie.

Fall leaves

Don’t you just love those autumn colours? Well that’s the theme over at Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge SSC243. Also playing with the giving thanks theme over at Dies R Us Challenge #156. I first die embossed 110 lb watercolour cold press paper with the smallest branch of the Altenew Hanging Garden set. Then I began blending the colours according to the SSWC graphic. Once dry, I adhered a die cut branch and added some Glossy Accents to both the berries and the leaves. Finally some Rock Candy dry glitter was sprinkled on the berries. To finish, the IO word die “Thanks” was die cut in watercolour paper.

Daisy Fresh

Playing with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #459 and the Color Hues Challenge #5 of yellow and kraft. The card base was scored and ink blended with some yellow and kraft colour. Some Alexandra Renke leaves and Spellbinders bloom with yellow liquid pearls were added to embellish. This card base was matted on kraft card stock and then onto the card base.
