Pinky Pink

capture-decran-2016-09-30-a-13-21-47This card is a fun card full of wonder.  capture-decran-2016-09-30-a-13-21-36CASology week #217 theme is cute and I felt that the Color Throwdown challenge #412 had the perfect colours.  A real CAS card, the bird’s two tones were the best combination to make her sweet and the green fun foam leaves were the perfect perch.  Now I know clouds aren’t blue, but this is a FUN card!  A foam mounted frame to bring it all together with white heat embossed clouds.  Hope it makes you smile 🙂

Flower Power

CAS Colours & Sketches #193 uses the secondary colours:capture-decran-2016-09-30-a-12-23-28 Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Tangerine Tango.  That, in watercolour, is a real challenge!  Mixing these tones often make mud, but with patience you can manage to keep the palette clean 😉  This week on the Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog it’s anything goes YAY!

On Bristol paper I carefully smooshed, dried and re-smooshed to achieve my border.  Then I added Pearl Ex to add some shimmer.  Ink splatters of the 3 washes were added for cohesion.  Die cut flowers, in vellum and shimmer paper, were fastened with beads atop this left edge.  Then “Bonne Fête” was die-cut 4 times and glued together to give some dimension.  Hope you enjoy 😀

Une pensée

Sketch #191 from CAS(E) this Sketch! was the inspiration capture-decran-2016-09-27-a-09-48-47for my card 😀  A black fun foam cat die cut over a piece of swiss dot embossed vellum over a piece of B&W card stock, postage die cut, over a basic white card base embossed with a MFT square frame die.  A little thought bubble stamped in black, “Une pensée” (A thought)!  A glitter heart covered with glossy accents to let the love shine even more .  Hope you enjoy 😉

Have a great week, thanks for stopping by, HUGz Joanna

MOJO 467

capture-decran-2016-09-26-a-13-26-29Another Christmas card for the Mojo Monday Challenge #467.  I first embossed the card panel with a border die for the horizontal strip, then I masked off the bottom rectangle to white heat emboss this section with a pattern of holly leaves.  I grey ink blended this area and I added Micro-Pearl Ex Pigment while humid to add some festive shine!  The scalloped circle die cut is in white vellum that I heat embossed in glitter powder to add more sparkle.  I finished with silver foil paper die cuts using the Sizzix alterations Holiday Greens and one of Simon Says Stamp word dies “joyeux noël” (Merry Christmas).  A few red rhinestones to finish and the piece was mounted onto dark red card stock.  This card measures 6 x 6 inches.  Hope you enjoy!

Perky Poppy

The Less is More Recipe for Week #295 is THREADCapture d’écran 2016-08-07 à 17.23.16 I adhered a white Perky Poppy die cut from Memory Box onto a piece of watercoloured rectangle strip in orange tones.  I added Glass Beads to the petals and glued this piece to a folded white card stock base.  I perforated the edge with a Papersmooches Dots die which was threaded with embroidery thread of the same colours.  Three X’s on alternate corners and the card was done.

Hope you enjoy, happy card making, HUGz Joannaimg_0928

Amy’s Christmas :)

capture-decran-2016-09-23-a-13-58-30Amy’s Sketch #255 from Freshly Made Sketches made me think Christmas… which is not so far away when it comes to making Christmas Cards.  I die cut the shimmer card stock with a Sizzix distress background die and placed vellum behind, to allow the light to come through.  Then I stamped and embossed, in gold, 3 poinsettias onto vellum paper and fussy cut them, adding an opal pearl for the heart.  The pine die cuts in, gold and white shimmer paper, where place horizontally behind the flower.  A tiny, heart perforated, tag was attached with gold thread to the lattice!  This whole piece was adhered to a folded white card base with the lattice area cut out, allowing light to pass through!

Thanks for stopping by, happy card making!  HUGz Joanna 😉

C’est ton jour

capture-decran-2016-09-22-a-12-10-41“It’s your day” stamped in black is going capture-decran-2016-09-22-a-12-11-00to be one awesome party 😀  An array of white card stock die-cuts all painted in Sweet & Sour colours from The Card Concept #58 and then using CAS colours & Sketches Challenge #192 for the composition, was made using Zig Clean Color brushes.  Be warned, clear embossing over this water-paint will stain your Versamark pad 😛   The top layer blends in ALOT with the other elements, but hey, I had fun with these vibrant colours!!!

Happy card making, thanks for stopping by  🙂

Amitié (II)

Love Arche watercolour paper, it’s so forgiving 😛  capture-decran-2016-09-21-a-17-13-13I saturated it with colourQ’s (#360) selection of Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Hello Honey and Soft Suede all at the same time.  Then I was img_0921able to die cut one leaf to get all four tones, YAY!  The white base of the card was white heat embossed with the leaf skeleton stamp, reserving the circular area defined by the Stitchable Dot Circle die.  This piece was mounted capture-decran-2016-09-17-a-12-01-20on honey card stock and finally the leaf was foam raised over a circle of white vellum stamped “Amitié” (friendship) in soft suede.  I finally added a few beads to match the colour combo 😀

I also entered my card in the TIME OUT Challenge #66 since I felt that the leaf and colour palette were the same theme  😛  !

Thanks for stopping by, Hugz Joanna 😉

Diamond Duos

capture-decran-2016-09-19-a-10-21-04Mojo Monday #466 done with my leftover marbled bristol paper from the previous post 😉  Happy to interpret this challenge’s version of Julee’s sketch!  Modelling paste over a script stencil to the right panel, and to the left, two die-cut feathers (marbled and vellum) over a piece of Japanese paper, both sides sprinkled with glitter 😉 .  “just a note” stamped over a fuchsia section of the bristol paper and heat embossed with sparkle clear powder.capture-decran-2016-09-19-a-13-12-40  Again, a peachy embroidery thread to stitch the Duo with dangling crystal beads, so that it qualifies for the Addicted to CAS Challenge #97.  That’s my take this week.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week, Hugz Joanna 😀  img_0900
