Flower Bud

My interpretation of the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #529 by Jen T along with the Color Throwdown palette #686. A touch of sage green in the word sentiment “bon anniversaire” (happy birthday) on cream card stock and purple for the flower bud.

Teacher

A quick one layer card for my teacher son-in-law. Playing to the “white & green” Seize the Birthday #234 Challenge and the Fusion Card Challenge “Bookshelf” theme. I used an old Clear & Simple Stamp set for the books. The Bonne Fête (Happy Birthday) are from two different sets and stamped as the top border. I scored twice, under the wish and the books to create dimension for the shelves.

Spring BD

Lots of Spring Birthdays in the family, so here’s my first. Playing to two challenges: Perfectly CAS Challenge #25 Die Cuts and the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #528. Three white strips of Pepita Borders for the pattern paper word “FETE” (Birthday) along with a stamped tag “Bonne” (Happy). Coloured card stock was used for the card base.

Just a Flutter

It’s a rainy day here so I’m spending my time in my crafty corner and playing to the Just Us Girls Challenge #624 with the colours of Ivory, Soft Rose & Sage Green. This is a one layer card using a butterfly stamp in Soft Rose and a branch stamp in Sage Green over Ivory Card Stock. I heat embossed a circle by tracing a circle die with a Versamark pen.

Supplies: Simon Says Stamp BE KIND, Penny Black Butterfly Trio, WOW EP, Finetec watercolor, Clear Nuvo Drops

Bit of Bling

That’s the theme over at Less is More Challenge #460, it sounds like a jingle 😀 Using an old Memory Box Cream Puff Heart die, I used some WOW EP called “glitter metallic gold sparkle” for the frame and on the vellum sentiment “Félicitations” (Congratulations). The negative space of the heart was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug Textile EF. The sentiment strip die is from MFT. I’m also adding my card to the Just Us Girls Embossing Folder Challenge #623 and Happy Little Stampers.

Perfectly Metallic

Perfectly CAS Challenge #24 has us playing with a Metallic theme. I used the leaf die cut to create the metal focal point and to use as a homemade stencil to sponge a little delicata gold ink onto the card base. The word “amicalement” (friendly) was gold heat embossed along with the leaf die cut.

Supplies: delicata gold ink, WOW EP, Magenta word stamp, Simply Graphic feuillages ajourés

Thank you to the Perfectly Cas Designers for this very special shout out!

Simple Silhouette

Playing with the CAS AAA Cards Challenge Game #210 Sketch. I used a homemade frame stencil with a Sizzix Wildflower die cut in the window. I used a Gelli plate to apply the gold acrylic paint over my stencil. Before removing the stencil, I splattered some watered down black acrylic paint. Finally, I used the same die for the black flower silhouette and stamped in black, “Amitié” (Friends).

Supplies: Gelli-plate, Liquitex deep gold/black acrylic paint, Sizzix Thinlits wildflower stems #1, Artemio word stamp.

Green/Gold

For me, the Color Hues challenges are synonymous with CAS cards. Lindsay’s programmed Color Hues Challenge #36 had to be honored. So, I pasted a rectangle of tengujo japanese paper (a stronger version of tissue paper) onto my card base to add some texture and then added a triple layered Altenew Hanging Garden die cut. The die cut was heat embossed three times in green and gold before adhering. Liquid pearls were added to the berries and splatters of gold watercolor.

Supplies: Altenew hanging garden die set, WOW EP, tengujo (tengucho paper), Finetec-pearl watercolours liquid pearls.

#cardsforukraine

Ukraine’s sunflower are in the tones of Blue and Yellow for the Color Hues Special Challenge #36. I used the Penny Black Joyful die to reproduce their national flower in yellow vellum petals and blue foliage. The white embossed stamp “pour toi” (for you) sounded appropriate for me. #cardsforukraine A surreal reality dating back to the twentieth century. Who thought?

Prayers and courage for Ukraine, warm HUGz, Joanna

Supplies: Penny Black Joyful die, WOW EP, McCollection stamp
