Scribbles, Drips & Splats

The Simply “Less is More” Challenge #418 calls for Scribbles, Drips and/or Splats. Well I had one of those hanging around filled with different colours of acrylics. Easy peasy, I grabbed a SSS Fresh Daisies die, clear heat embossed and popped it onto my white card stock. I had a pearlized Smile word die hanging around and glued that on.

Hope you are all home and safe, take care, HUGz, Joanna

Rainbow Silhouette

Addicted to CAS Challenge #183 is about Silhouettes. Using an IO Fun Friends stamp and some Daniel Smith watercolour tubes, I stamped onto 140 lb watercolour paper with my Misti. I also clear heat embossed the image to seal the watercolour. Then I die cut the word die “Bonheur” (Happiness) and stacked it over several layers of royal blue card stock. I also matted the panel over a royal blue card base. You can see a close-up here.

Keep SAFE, hope you are all well, blessings & HUGz, Joanna

Yellow Bloom

Maybe I make too many flower cards, but hey I have lots of girlfriends 😉 For this card I really liked the colours and the FLOWER (on the cushion) at the TIME OUT “chair photo” Challenge #160. Yet the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #369 got my attention. So I used at Tattered Lace Poinsettia die and applied some yellow acrylic shimmer paint. Then I used a Concord &9th Layering Leaves die to cut three different types of pattern paper to mimic the photo. I applied dots of paint with my stylus end and added a vellum tag stamped “plein de bisous” (lots of 😘 ).

Hope you are all well and safe, take care, HUGz, Joanna

Shasta Daisy

A special thank you in this time of kindness. This daisy die, from Elizabeth Crafts was cut in pearlized card stock and silver foil. The silver twine is an IO bow die and the Thank you is from Penny Black Inc. You can see a close-up here.

Entering this card in the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #432.

STAY SAFE, Blessings & HUGz, Joanna

Thank you Cécile for the recognition out at Freshly Made Sketches #432

Taureau

A bull for my taurus man 😀 Playing with the colour tones at CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #367, the animal theme at Addicted to CAS Challenge #183, and finally the zodiac theme at CASology Week #366. I ink blended a bull stencil and then stamped with Versafine black ink/clear heat embossed an IO cover a card stamp. The “Bonne Fête” word die (Happy Birthday) was die cut in black card stock and clear heat embossed.

Hope you’re all home & healthy, STAY SAFE all, HUGz, Joanna

Thank you Jen for the recognition over at CASology Challenge #366, truly happy

Confined Chicks ;)

Playing with CAS(E) this Sketch #368 and Color Throwdown Countdown #589. I confined the black, grey and red glitzed embossed chicks (Penny Black “tweets”) with a white frame (Nellie Snellen)…UNITED WE STAND…right? 😀 The background was stamped and white heat embossed with an old Inkadinkado Meadow set.

Hope you are all well, STAY SAFE, HUGz, Joanna

April CAS Mix Up Reminder 2020

Half way through the month and there’s still to play with our BLEACH CAS Mix Up Challenge hosted by our Loll. Remember to check the blog for inspiration from our Special Guest Mac and our design team.

I decided to use some dark card stock for my cards. I stamped the Technique Tuesday Carefree Cosmos in Versafine Black and clear heat embossed. I added some bleach onto the petal area and waited for it to dry. A white colouring pencil covered the petals and then fuchsia colouring was also applied to the navy card. Then I added some shine with a clear Wink of Stella brush. For the black card, I used some Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry & Pearl Colours. Some Liquid Pearls were added to the stamens. Finally, a “Merci” word die in the same shade as the Liquid Pearls was added to the navy card.

Hope to see you in our gallery, thank you so much for stopping by,

La vie est si belle

A rainbow kite for two challenges: AAA Cards Challenge #163; and Happy Little Stampers “Anything goes with Dies.

An old Spellbinders kite die heat embossed with glitz EP several times over a little sky blue sponging and a sentiment “La vie est si belle” (Life is beautiful). You can see a close up here. Stay safe all in this time of confinement …Everything will be OK 😉

Thanks for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Out of Focus

How do you make a die cut out of focus 😛 …that’s my challenge for the Less is More Challenge #417.

Using a die cut from the flutters set by Penny Black, I passed it again with a Papersmooches die called Criss Cross. Then I applied some iridescent acrylic paint of green-yellow and green-blue. The body was heat embossed with Opaque Sparkle EP and the wings with clear EP. On the card base, I added the same paint to the contour. I dry embossed the butterfly on the white card stock before adding my out of focus flutter. You can see a close-up here.

Stay SAFE, Blessings and HUGz, Joanna

Mica Feather

Card making keeps me sane 😀 Today I’m playing to two challenges with the same theme. Just Us Girls Challenge #530, Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge Feathers, and the OLC-no sentiment challenge #416 at Less is More.

For this one layer card, I dry embossed a Spellbinders’ Resplendent Rectangle onto the card base and then, leaving the die in place, I outlined with a clear sparkle gel pen. Then I stamped the Stampendous ‘Peacock Feather’ with Versamark, added some sticky EP and applied different shades of Pearl Ex. You can see the shimmer on a close up here.

STAY SAFE everyone, Blessings & HUGz, Joanna
