Une fleur parmi les fleurs…

Capture d_écran 2017-06-22 à 15.57.07Capture d_écran 2017-05-13 à 21.20.11This one layer card was the inspiration from 3 challenges: TIME OUT Challenge #86 #Celebrations (one layer option) + Color Throwdown #448 colour palette of purple, mint green, hot pink and teal, and finally Freshly Made Sketches #293
with Karren‘s sketch!Capture d_écran 2017-06-22 à 15.57.20

Using the Penny Black stamp “gentle whisper” I proceeded by using the purple for the stamen, teal for the contour, hot pink for the petals and mint green for the stems.  I stamped this orchid onto a 110lb white folded card base by mimicking Karren’s curve in her sketch.  The flower was then clear heat embossed to give it some shine.  The sentiment ” Une fleur parmi les fleurs” (A flower amongst flowers) was heat embossed in mint green, in celebration of a very special friend!  Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz, JoannaIMG_1914

June Case MIX Up Reminder

Capture d_écran 2017-03-23 à 15.09.42

There’s still time to play at CAS Mix Up!  The theme this month is embossing pastes or gels.  Lots of videos can be found on the blog to get you going.

For this card I used both.  The blue dragonfly was made with gel mixed in with the same ink used for the flower and the iridescent paste was mixed with the green used for the stem.  I had an Inkadinkado meadow flower stamp, which I heat embossed with silver pearl onto the card base.  Then using this same flower I stamped the Sizzix Wildflower die cut in blue, using Tombow brushes #476 & #493.  The stems were also stamped with Tombow’s green #158.  Blue twine was attached just under the largest flower and allowed to curl around the stem.  This wildflower was adhered to the card base once the gel and paste was dry.

The Design Team also have great CAS designs to inspire you, do stop by 😀  Warm HUGs

FMS #291

Capture d_écran 2017-06-08 à 11.43.50Jen B at Freshly Made Sketches came up with a lovely design #291.  I pasted a rectangle of Japanese paper onto some 110 lb white card stock and added a cut white strip from a Penny Black GEOMETRIC BORDER die.  Using a Spellbinders MAKE A WISH Etched die I cut off the stem on the white card stock and vellum.  Using gold Liquitex acrylic ink! I dotted the round sections of the top die.  A white eyelet holds this blossom to the card base.

Hope you enjoy, have a great day.  Thanks for stopping by, HUGz JoannaIMG_1887

Capture d_écran 2017-06-06 à 12.05.34Capture d_écran 2017-06-06 à 12.05.20Insect is the theme at CASology Week #252, so I used CAS Colours & Sketches #226 palette of  Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky!  The hibiscus die cuts (Memory Box) were cut in watercolour paper and some salt was added to the Coral colour to add some texture.  Embossing paste was tinted with Soft Sky and was stencilled onto the the white card base.  Then the ants (Lawn Fawn) were stamped in Crumb Cake and clear heat embossed… stamping little dots here and there.  Finally, two linen canvas leaves were added (Spellbinder).  Today’s card is also posted on the June CAS Mix Up ChallengeCapture d_écran 2017-03-23 à 15.09.42

Mojo Monday 500

Capture d_écran 2017-06-05 à 11.23.54Julee’s last sketch for Mojo Monday 500.  A farewell, leading to another horizon, that’s why my card says “COURAGE“!  That’s the best part of LIFE, we take steps forward to new worlds and like Albert Einstein said: “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”  Mojo Monday was my weekly kick start for the past year.  Thank you Julee for these great challenges and good luck in your new adventures.  This is my take on your last sketch 😉

June CAS Mix Up Challenge

Capture d_écran 2017-03-23 à 15.09.42

A new month, a new challenge at CAS Mix Up!  It’s time to take out those embossing pastes and gels.  Don’t forget to take a look at the videos to get you inspired 😀

A Penny Black’s IRIS flower was die cut in watercolour paper.  The iris was painted with Daniel Smith watercolours.  The flower was then die cut again in a piece of card stock to create a stencil for the white modelling paste which was applied to the white card base.  Once dry, the watercolored flower die cut was pasted just slightly below, adding a heat embossed tag stamped “jolie Pensée” (a pretty thought) tied to the stem with yellow twine.  Some green and yellow splatters were added for interest and some of those splatters were covered with Nuvo glitter drops.

Hope you join us with your creative CAS designs.  Don’t forget to take a look at what the dynamic Designer Team has come up with.  The challenge is open until the 24th of June, can’t wait to see your entries.  Thanks for stopping by, HUGs
