Bowtie Christmas

Am I having fun with these Technique Tuesday chickadees? …yes I am 😀 Using the Paper Players Challenge PP514 three rectangle as a background, I dry embossed a MFT horizontal strip die three times. Then I stamped the tallest bird in Antique Gold EP, 3 times. I watercolour him with some Gansai Starry Colours. I die cut large NOËL alphabets and red glitz heat embossed to go along with the fun CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #396. The birdie was dressed up with some Memory Box Holiday Hats & Ginger Bread die cuts. With this social distancing, I will be sending out lots of cards this Christmas.

Blue Stars

Playing with the AAA Cards Game #177Maxi White Space + optional twist Stars“. Perfect for a Christmas card to add to my stash! 😉 Just 3 MFT Lucky Stars die cuts in white iridescent card stock. I traced and coloured the stars on white card base with Ultramarine Copics. After adhering on top, I added some Glossy Accents and finally, using the Sizzix Mix Media Marks dies, I added the strings and the card was done.

Stay SAFE and stay STRONG …it’s going to be a long haul. Thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Special Birthday

Does anyone out there have daughters with special request BD cards? Well my youngest, born on Halloween, really loves all white themes. This year I tried…. at least twice and my mojo just couldn’t get there. Lola, our 13 yo golden Lab, was keeping an eye on me. So here goes for this Scorpion Girl. This is a NBUS French “Happy Birthday” wreath (Never Been Used Stuff Challenge #19…according to Darnell, who really wants us to bring out our unused products to good use). The card design was inspired by the CAS(E) this sketch Challenge #395. I first splattered my white card base with some Gold Gansai watercolour. Then, I tore and glued some Tengujo paper (with wet fingers) to make this feathered horizontal strip which I also splattered with liquid pearls. The “Bonne Fête” wreath was stacked with gold cardstock and then topped with a white pearl heat embossed layer. The gold tissue paper blooms (old Spellbinders die) were added with a pearl center and finally the leaf branch is from Alexandra Renke was also included. Voilà!

Stay SAFE, hope you are well, thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna …………& Lola

Leaf Party

It’s a beautiful cool sunny Saturday morning, after a brisque walk I made a card LOL 😉 Playing with the “More than one type of FoliageLIM Challenge #431, the blue and orange tones over at Color Hues Challenge #4 and the rotated CAS(E) this Sketch #395 by Donna Mikasa. Some DOX ink blending on Concord & 9th plus McCollection leaf die cuts along with a little stamping using IO scratches and an old Inkadinkadoo wood stamp.

Stay SAFE friends, thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Aux Oiseaux

Technique Tuesday birds playing to the Color Throwdown Challenge #616 tones along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #458. Some die dry embossing, a little stamping and heat embossing.

Take care everyone & stay SAFE, thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

October CAS Mix Up Reminder 2020

There’s still time to play along with Viv’s tone on tone theme for the CAS Mix Up Stencil Challenge. Remember to head back to the blog for more inspiration from the design team, videos and our special guest Pat.

For this card I used the Sizzix Woodland die to create a fur tree stencil. Using a Nellie Snellen photo frame die, I made another stencil to mask the contour of the Bristol paper, thus creating a frame. Using faded jeans DOX inks, I added with a light hand of ink blending for the sky and added different intensities of ink blending through the fur tree stencil for the background. Once satisfied, I removed the frame mask and, with a heavier hand, created the whole tree. Some Gloss Gel was also added before removing the homemade stencil. I added some white and blue glitter to give an iridescent snowy appeal to the tree. A noël word die was added to this simple card. Another Christmas card to add to my stash 😀

For the second card I masked and scored the left and bottom sides of the Bristol Paper. A light layer of Mustard Seed Dox was applied and then some blooms from the Crafters Workshop Flying Garden stencil were added. Some modeling paste was the last layer applied and embellished with some clear rock candy.

Hope to see your scrumptious creation in our gallery. Thanks for stopping by, HUGz,

Christmas Kiss

This is the name of a Penny Black die which I’ve had forever, can you believe an NBUS (Never been used stuff as our friend Darnell would say). Playing to the tune of the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #392! Yup, painted the die cut in gold and red watercolours, topped it with a vellum previously die cut with a circle, leaving part of the die between the vellum and card base. Some Nuvo glitter dots to finish for embellishment. No sentiment, since I think this can’t get more Christmas-sy 😉

Keep safe and do take care, thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

A touch of madness ;)

The title says it all, I wanted to make a one layer card with the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #393 and the AAA Cards CAS Game #176one corner“. I know, this was my second attempt, but I think I like it. The MFT Stitchable Dot Circle was first die cut. Then I used the Lawn Fawn scalloped circle stacks and the Memory Box Tilth Floral to dry emboss. I masked the floral to add some iridescent medium with my gelli plate. I hand doodled the dots with a sparkle Gelly Roll pen. And finally, I stamped and heat embossed “Un brin de folie” …A touch of madness.

Stay SAFE and take care. Thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Gold Futters

Playing along with the plaid theme over at Memory Box Challenge #66 and the angle it Inkspirational Challenge #223. I stamped the plaid pattern with Delicate Gold ink and Gold EP. Using this homemade pattern paper I decided to angle it by making a corner pocket. The vellum Memory Box Pinpoint Butterflies were also inked up with the same ink and some gold EP. Finally, the pocket was embellished with a gold embossed Memory Box Crisp Bow.

Take care all and craft on. Thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna
