January CAS Mix Up Reminder

Welcome back to our CAS Mix Up January ReminderCapture d_écran 2017-12-06 à 16.23.51 involving CLING WRAP + Stamping.  So many videos to get you started too.  The CAS Rules can be found here.

Using Bristol paper I created a rectangle mask to which I applied watercolours of Green Gold and Ultramarine Blue.  I applied plastic wrap to the wet surface and waited for it to dry.  Using a MFT leaf die, I placed it on the bottom half of the coloured rectangle and replaced it by paper piecing a  white Bristol paper leaf die.  Using a water brush, I activated the watercolours to give the same tint to the paper pieced leaf.  A thick layer of Distress Crackle Paint was applied to the coloured leaf die cut and allowed to dry naturally.  Using watercolour paper, a thin frame from Nellie Snellen’s Multi-Frame Die Set- Photo Frames was painted using Gold Gansai Tambi Starry Colours.  These two die cuts were adhered over the cling wrap card base and “bonjour” was stamped and heat embossed with silver Pearl THREE times to give it dimension.

Hope to see you in our gallery.  The design team has lots of inspiration for you here.  Thanks for stopping by, HUGz

  1. You’ve achieved gorgeous texture everywhere on this card, Joanna! Love the Green Gold and Ultramarine Blue watercolored background with cling wrap wrinkles. The Distress Crackle Paint on the leaves makes them look realistic. The heat embossed sentiment with silver pearl (3 times!) is a nice touch too. Hideko xx

  2. WOW! What wonderful texture on this card, my friend! I love the green and gold cling wrap background and leaf and how the crackle adds texture! And pulling a bit of color onto the paper piece leaf was a brilliant idea! Love that gold frame and the silver embossing too! Wow!

  3. I love your mix of gold and green watercolours, OMG such a beautiful warm colour. Your inlaid die cut and overlay die cut are spectacular, the crackle gives so much texture and dimesion. I’m with Susan, I might just have to CASE this one 🙂

  5. A lots of fantastic details with your beautiful card, Joanna!! LOVE the design from the cling wrap technique. The colours are just perfect for the palm leaves. Great design with inlaying a white leaf and popping up the die-cut green leaf for added dimension. The clear crackle on top of the green leaf is GORGEOUS! And the gold frame is beautiful. xx

  6. I love so many things about this card – the gold frame, the crackle on the green leaf, the inlaid subtly coloured leaf, and the dimension you got on the sentiment – what a fabulous card! Thank you for explaining all the steps as I’d love to CASE it.
