Easter Egg

Capture d’écran 2019-03-30 à 11.32.35I thought an Easter Egg was Capture d’écran 2019-03-27 à 11.50.44perfect for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #314 along with those nice soft colours from Color Throwdown Challenge #536.  I used Gloss Gel Medium over two stencils (Kaisercraft starburst / TCW plaid fringe) onto a cream coloured Egg die cut and added mauve and moss green glitter.  An old border die cut from Memory Box for the mid section was heat embossed with antique EP.  The Little B Bouquet blooms were added along with some Nuvo Drops, plus more mauve glitter.  Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by, HUGz, JoannaIMG_3919

Open Scroll Butterfly

Capture d’écran 2019-03-28 à 13.02.42I’ve had this NBUS die since foreverCapture d’écran 2019-03-28 à 13.02.55 and the TIME OUT Challenge #132 along with the CAS(E) this Sketch #315 were the perfect motivation to bring it out.  Like most of you already know, I love heat embossing and that’s how I treated this die cut using silver pearl, gold, black and glitz EPs.  On the card base, I added embossing paste using the Tim Holt 4 stripes along with some clear rock candy.  Some Nuvo glitter drops were added to the body.

Embossed inchies

Capture d’écran 2019-03-20 à 12.01.02

The title says it all. Capture d’écran 2019-03-20 à 12.00.44I die cut and dry embossed 9 inchies adding coloured heat EP at strategic raised areas.  The design is the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #380 and the colours are from the Color Throwdown Challenge #535 of red, yellow, soft green and white.  A yellow vellum butterfly was also added.

Thank you FMS for the recognition 😀

Blue Bloom

Capture d’écran 2019-03-19 à 11.09.55Fiona at CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #313 chose Old Olive, Sahara Sand & Pacific Point as the colour scheme.  I die cut the Memory Box Sketch Daisy out of Sahara Sand card base.  Before adhering my flower, I stategically smooshed some Old Olive and Pacific Point on the card base.  Crackle accents were added in the flowers apertures, some blue butterflies were stamped and the edge was embossed with a stitched border from MFT.  Finally, I stamped some script on the edge of my folded card stock in the three colours.

loving hugs

Capture d’écran 2019-03-15 à 13.19.35CAS(E) this Sketch #313 is a REAL Capture d’écran 2019-03-15 à 13.19.55challenge 😛 so I opted for a mix media card.  Some crackle paste with watercolour for a rusty feeling.  Then some royal blue foil card stock for the penny farthing die cut along with a heart die and “hugs” die.  Some foiled thread for some flower sequins in the same colours.  Happy Birthday TIME OUT, sending warm hugs for your Birthday Challenge #313.

March CAS Mix Up Reminder

Capture d_écran 2018-11-11 à 12.17.12Welcome back to Capture d’écran 2019-02-25 à 16.41.28the our 3RD ANNIVERSARY & our March CAS Mix Up Challenge to which I’m excited to host.  This month, we’re trying the Faux Stained Glass technique.  Of course, we’ve got plenty of video’s on the blog, but the design team along with our Special Guest Gundi have made some stunning cards to get your mojo started.

For this card, I die cut the Alexandra Renke flower and leaf 4 times with thick Bristol paper.   These were adhered onto the white textured card base.  To seal the apertures I added 2 coats of Gesso before adding the Pébéo mix media acrylics called Prisme Fantasy.  I let this dry overnight and added the white textured die cuts to hide any spillage 😉  “Just un petit mot” (Just a little note) was stamped with Versafine black ink on a piece of vellum and clear heat embossed.  After adhering two sequins in the same colour tones, an Altenew fine rectangle frame secured this piece.

Don’t you love trying something new?   The Design Team as well as our wonderful Guest Designer Gundi  have some awesome inspiration for you.

Thanks for stopping by, HUGz,

Joanna

Spring blues

Capture d’écran 2019-03-13 à 15.25.46Playing along with Judy’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #379 and with the Color Throwdown Capture d’écran 2019-03-13 à 15.26.19Challenge #534 (light blue, brown and orange).  I used orange Brushos for the strip on the card base and added some molding paste over a Darkroom Polka Dot stencil.  Then I die cut some Elizabeth Craft Garden notes on Blue Brushoed watercolour paper, working the paper to give the blooms dimension.  Finally I added a generous amount of Nuvo drops for the stamens and added some brown glitter.  “Merci” (thank you) was also covered with brown glitter.
