Bright Smudges

Capture d’écran 2019-05-30 à 15.03.33This is truly a CAS card made with smudges of Gelatos in the Time Out Challenge #136 colours and applied on textured card stock.  I then added some gel with a stencil to emulate the blue background tiles in the photo.  A little clear rock candy sprinkled along with a black glossy paper “Happy Birthday” die cut for the sentiment.  I matted the panel onto the same black glossy paper and the card was done.

Spring Blossoms

Capture d’écran 2019-05-29 à 12.16.28We’re having a late springCapture d’écran 2019-05-29 à 12.16.10 here, so I brought the spring blossoms inside 😉  Loving the succulent colour scheme at Color Throwdown #545 and the CAS design at CAS Colours & Sketches #323.  I watercoloured some 140 lb hotpress paper in the colours of Raspberry, Lavender and Green and quickly die cut some Papersmooches flowers, glued them together as displayed on the card.  The white glitter paper “hugs” die cut was adhered to vellum and fussy cut.  The kraft paper Memory Box Woodland Branch die cut was the seat of the whole flower cluster.

Every spring I dig outcolor trio square the dandelions, proudly growing in my grass, and curiously I find this bloom so pretty.  For this card, inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #389 design, is composed of 3 colours to be entered in the new Foiled Fox Challenge, hosted by the very talented Heather Telford.  Thank you Foil Fox for the recognitionI made a circle stencil and Capture d’écran 2019-05-25 à 16.02.09proceeded to stamp, clear heat embossed, and sponge.  This is a MFT stamp which never gets old.  The popped up ticket strip die cut is from Spellbinders and the yellow sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I’m also entering my card in the Less is More Challenge #396 since only the bloom is embossed 😀

May CAS Mix Up 2019

Capture d’écran 2019-03-19 à 13.34.59Welcome back to our Baby wipe technique for the May CAS Mix Up Challenge.   Bonnie is attacking the Baby wipes.  As usual, there is plenty of inspiration from the Design Team, our guest designer, Berry, along with videos to kick start your creativity.

For this card I inked up a baby wipe with Ecoline (a transparent/liquid watercolour paint) in the three primary colours.  I stamped baby feet several times with this improvised ink pad.  I also smooshed another piece of card stock directly onto the saturated baby wipe to get a background piece.  While still wet, both card stocks were heat embossed with glitz EP.  The vellum matting was also stamped and glitz heat embossed with a stripe background stamp.  The fine line die, cut out of a left over, was heat embossed as well.  The Nellie Snellen fine frame was also added.

Hope you’ll join in on the fun.  Don’t forget to pop over to the challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz,

Joanna

BOLD :D

Victor turns “3” so this is his birthday card! Capture d’écran 2019-05-13 à 17.14.46 Following the “Just us Girls” Trend Week #487 with BOLD Letters and the CASE(E) this Sketch #321 designed by Brian King,

Capture d’écran 2019-05-13 à 17.15.07I used Spellbinder’s Die D-Lites Little Guy Etched Die and tried to reproduce this little guy’s favourite trucks’ label.  His name in BOLD letters following the sketch were heat embossed several times using Ranger’s black puff EP.

That’s my card for today, thank you so much for stopping by, HUGz, JoannaIMG_4139

May CAS Mix Up

Capture d’écran 2019-03-19 à 13.34.59Welcome back to a new technique Challenge at CAS Mix Up!  We’re playing with Baby Wipes 😛 hosted by Bonnie.  You’ll find lots of inspiration on the blog from the Design Team and, of course, the videos.  Our Guest Designer this month is Berry and also has a special card for you too.

These twin cards are for my twin granddaughters who turn 3 next week.  I used Distress Oxides on photo paper then did some baby wiping to get these beautiful colours.  I die-cut the giraffe out of this lovely paper, added some white gel pen, some glitter heat embossing and a smart bow to the neck.  On the white textured card base, I stamped an old Studio Calico numbers border and added Glossy Accents to cover the “3” and then added some same tone glitter.  Once the giraffe was adhered, I added some silver pearl black to the eyes.

Hope to see your scrumptious creations in our gallery.  Thanks for stopping by, Hugz,

Joanna
