Wheat reverse confetti

Since I’ve been busy gardening lately I’m optimizing my crafting afternoon playing with several challenges: CAS(E) this sketch #377; Color Throwdown Challenge #598 (gold aqua and pink); Less is More #422 (solid and outline) and finally the embossed vellum challenge over at CAS Mix Up!

The card base was dry embossed with the MFT’s rectangle peek a boo window die. Some iridescent medium was added to the window. The Reverse Confetti wheat die set (solid & outline) were used to the gold heat embossed aqua and pink vellum with the IO crackle cover a die stamp. The outline was die cut in gold foil paper. A gold thread held this duo together and the card should be perfect for several occasions.

June CAS Mix Up Reminder 2020

We’re half way through the month for the CAS Mix Up Challenge, Embossing Vellum, hosted by our talented Susan. Remember to go to the blog for videos, design team inspiration and to our special guest Bonnie.

The first card I stamped a Hero Arts Dots-N-Flowers onto Vellum with Versamark and white heat embossed. I die cut a Altenew fine frame in gold foil card stock along with an apple blossom branch die. Some tiny vellum blooms were added with a pearl center.

For the second card, I stamped and silver heat embossed Penny Black’s “divine” onto a pre-torn piece of vellum. Then, using a stylus, I gently de-embossed the opposite side, concentrating on not perforating the vellum. Maybe my vellum wasn’t thick enough, since I repeated this exercise a few times before getting the right pressure. I flicked away from the heart of flower to get this effect. I used an MFT perforated banner die onto Japanese paper and silver stamp embossed “Sincères Condoléances”.

I do hope you’ll join us in the CAS Mix Up Gallery. Thanks so much for stopping by, Hugs,

Shining Sea

Gorgeous colour palette over at Color Throwdown #597 and Brian’s fun design at CAS(E) this Sketch #376. Some undersea brightness composed of Zig coloured die cuts from Spellbinders, the strip is a fishing net die cut from Ali express. Some liquid pearls were add for interest & dimension. A great Father’s day card for the fisherman in the house 😀

60th Wedding Anniversary

My oldest brother & sister in-law are celebrating their sixtieth 😮 As such, this had to be a very special card packed with goodness. No challenge, just some fun inspiration for you all. I started with a 12 x 6 piece of gray scale Strathmore paper for this square card. The 60 is from Papersmooches, the feather from the dollar store, the hearts from Gartner Studios, the gold paper from Au Papier Japonais, the fine frame from Altenew, the gold paint from Kuretake and the leafy die-cuts from Technique Tuesday. Here’s a close-up 😉

Bonne Fête Papa

Father’s Day is just around the corner so I used the CASology Week 370 FATHER theme to go with the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #374 to play along.

This card uses a Purple Onion Design stamp “Cheers” to stamp and gilded flake the card base. Then the vellum rectangle was stamped and silver gilded flaked with a “Bonne Fête Papa” (Happy Father’s Day). The Altenew Fine Frame was white heat embossed and cut to edge two corner. The panel was matted on gold paper.

Christmas Border

A quick perforated border Christmas card for the Less is More Challenge #421. I used the Sizzix Holiday Knit thinlits, SSS “joyeux noël” word die and the MFT Snowflakes dies. To embellish some Nuvo Glitter Drops were deposited for the center of the snowflakes. The faded jeans DOX ink was blended on the edge of the apertures by using a second die cut of the same border.

Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Leaf bouquet

Playing to two challenges, with the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #373 colours and the Karren’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #428. A little ink blending of Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz with some torn printer paper. Beach colours, don’t you think? The white die cuts are from IO’s ginkgo leaf and the Casual Trees Fri-Dies.

June CAS Mix Up 2020

Welcome back to a new challenge at CAS Mix UpEmbossing Vellum, hosted by our talented Susan. Remember to go to the blog for videosdesign team inspiration and to our special guest Bonnie.

I die cut the solid in a yellow piece of vellum using the Memory Box Flitter Side Butterfly and dry embossed with an Alexandra Renke EF. The detail die cut was trimmed of the lacy interior and heat embossed with silver WOW EP. I also die cut two solids in white vellum to support the wings. Once adhered together I added some Nuvo Crystal drops to the edges. For the card base, I stamped a Penny Black Woodland Beauty and white pearl heat embossed. The two Altenew Fine Frames were also white pearl HE.

Hope you’ll join in on the fun, thanks for stopping by, HUGz,
