Foiled AI

A thank you card made with Alcohol Inks on translucent Yupo paper.  A couple of weeks ago I watched this video by Kelly Latevola on foiling over AIs.  After seeing Jodi Collins’ Capture d_écran 2018-05-31 à 14.29.00AI card from the Color Throwdown #495 colour challenge, I decided it was time to give it a try.  Capture d_écran 2018-05-31 à 14.29.18Using Denim and Wild Plum AIs, I waited the drying time required, BUT, instead of just pressing Gold Deco Foil on top, I passed it through my Cuttlebug.  Well, as you can see, it pressed more of the scratches from my plate than the stickiness left from the AIs.  Nevertheless it was still beautiful …to me 😉  .  So I used Jen Brum’s perfect sketch from Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #339  to finish this card.  I scored the right diagonal side and completed with the foiled AI Yupo paper.  With a left over piece, I die cut “merci” (thank you) and adhered it.

Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Lime Citron Défi #5

Week #5, for a paper crafting Musical Tournament sponsored by Lime Citron using their Products.  Music puts the soul in harmony with everything that exists.  The challenge is to show what put us in harmony, to show those who comfort us and/or make us happy (a landscape, a place, our lover, our child or our animal companion).  I chose my dog LOLA, my yellow lab, where you can see here.

This week’s challenge is to meet the following guidelines:

  • White title; Capture d_écran 2018-05-29 à 10.39.24
  • Use purple, navy, ochre and black;
  • Use the triangle shape;
  • Add a grid (background, pattern paper, stamp);
  • Lime Citron products.

Less is More OLC Je pense à toi

372 ThinkingOfYouIt’s a OLC at Less is More Challenge #327 which is always a bigger challenge for me.  I adore all my dies and just can’t help using them ALOT.  I used the ones in this photo,IMG_2760 I searched for the name and just couldn’t find it, so if anyone knows what they are called, please let me know in the comments so that other card makers can find them.  First, I made a stencil with the one on the right and temporarily adhered the die cut, as a mask, onto my card base.  Then I placed my homemade stencil over top and began ink blending with DOx inks in Fossilized Amber and Peacock Feathers.  I removed the stencil and the mask and then I used the left die to dry embossed over the area that was masked off.  This created a beautiful impression of the outline leaves, but since I hadn’t perfectly lined up the die where the die-cut mask had been, some of the outline showed some of my ink blending.  To camouflage the ink, I added liquid perfect pearls in silver pearl.  “Je pense à toi” (Thinking of You) was stamped with the same DOx inks and clear heat embossed.

Lime Citron Défi #4

Week #4, for a paper crafting Musical Tournament sponsored by Lime Citron using their Products.  Love is like music, a false note will break the rythme.  I tried to reflect a song sung by Ginette Reno called  “♪ Une rose, un baiser et c’est tout ♪” (A rose, a kiss and that’s all) which is a song that reminds me of the complicated innocent love during adolescent years.

Following the musical theme, this week’s rules are:

  • Black card base;Capture d_écran 2018-05-24 à 15.19.09
  • Black & White photo or image;
  • Colours: black and white and all shades of grey;
  • Repeat the same form 8 times;
  • Incorporate a musique sheet;
  • Lime Citron products.

Énigma: Small luminous body other than the moon or the sun. What am I?  …I used a star rhinestone 8 times 😉  3 for the tittles on the j & i’s! …and 5 to illuminate the black card stock.  Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz, Joanna

Aqua & Lime

Capture d_écran 2018-05-18 à 15.54.44Welcome flutters 😉 this Capture d_écran 2018-05-18 à 15.55.05card was inspired by the Color Throwdown Challenge#493 along with the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge#337 designed by Linda.  Basically I die cut two tiny frame dies; a square in lime and a rectangle in aqua.  The textured card base was smeared with the same colour of acrylics and white heat embossed with a KaiserCraft wood grain stamp.  The butterflies are a Penny Black die, called Flutters, cut out of vellum, previously tinted by using this technique.  The bodies were embellished with Liquid Pearls.

Since it’s the WINGS theme over at Stamplorations I’m also linking my card to the CAS May Challenge 😀

May CAS Mix Up Reminder

Capture d_écran 2018-03-25 à 12.30.44

Welcome back for the May CAS Mix Up Reminder, you still have up until the 24th to play.  For this card I dry embossed Memory Box’s Sketchy Rings onto a piece of Bristol paper adding gelatos for each ring with a water brush.  Once dry, I adhered with Mat Medium tissue paper, previously stamped with an oriental scripts stamp from Kaisercraft, with Staz-On black ink.  Then I glued the rings die cut, in black card stock, on top of my collage and fussy cut the outer edges.  Using MFT’s Stitchable Dot Circle I die-cut the card base, positioning it with my collage piece.

Don’t forget to take a look at all the inspiration from our Design Team including technical videos.  Can’t wait to see your scrumptious creations in our gallery 😀  Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz

Sweet Friend

Capture d_écran 2018-05-10 à 12.26.32I wanted something soft so I Capture d_écran 2018-05-10 à 12.26.44opted for tones of grey, silver and silver pearl for my creation.  Inspiration from the TIME OUT Challenge #109 and the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #271.  I used Bristol paper to stamp my Around the Edge by Dylusions in Fog Memento Ink and then restamped to add Clear Glitter EP.  My panel was then die cut with MFT’s Die-namics Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Windows so that I could water colour each three windows with Gansai Tambi white gold along with a homemade greyish blue from Daniel Smith’s primary colours.  Some splatters were added and then the three pieces were popped up by layering 4 die cuts, inlaying them into place.  Tiny silvery Japanese paper flower die cuts, to which I added a pearl center, were added.  A “hello SWEET FRIEND” from Technique Tuesday Chickadees was stamped-silver heat embossed on a vellum MFT HIP CLIPS Die-Namics die cut, along with another bloom.
