I’m the host this month at CAS Mix UpChallenge and we’re featuring inchies. As usual there are videos and plenty of inspiration to be found by our creative design team and our special guest Stephanie (my Ink well).
Everyone’s approach to these unique tiles can be either organized or abstract. This is also the opportunity to grab those small unused pieces in your scrap box adding this and that, without any previous planning OR to create from scratch. The INCHIE(S) are brought together according to your style.
For this card I started from scratch. I die cut thick card stock and adhered with matte medium: torn print, tissue paper, kraft paper, dry wall tape, string and parts of stitched frame die cuts. I had seen homemade wax paper here and wanted to give a try. I hoped to get a “faux encaustic” allure. On my card base, I stamped a Kaisercraft chicken wire BG stamp in black, then in brown and finally heat embossed in silver pearl EP.
Hope you’ll get inspired to give this old crafting process a try and show us your creation in our gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by, HUGz,

So glad you chose inchies for the challenge you’re hosting as I still have some inchies stamps (sadly not used too often). Your card is fabulous – wonderful variety of mixed media on the inchies, and I love the triple stamping of the chicken wire stamp for the background too!

Each of your little inchies is a piece of art in itself. The layering you’ve done with different products/techniques is truly inspiring, Joanna! So perfect on the three layers of background stamp. Great challenge this month … I’ve been having lots of fun! xx

Congratulations on hosting this challenge! When I saw the challenge I could hardly wait to see your card. I knew there would be lots of texture. This is amazing and I scrolled back 4 times to take in the elements. That chicken wire background looks fabulous! At first glance I thought it was a die cut!
