<3 for you

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and ColourQ challenge #362 honours this important recall for all women.  Using CoulourQ’s palette to Leigh’s perfect CAS(E) this Sketch #193, I knew it just had to be a special card.

I opted for a vellum vertical strip with a half circle to receive a water coloured, silver heat embossed bloom using these rich tones.  With a stitched border I perforated the right side of the vellum strip and added silver beads on silver thread.  Beads were also added to the flower as stigma, since liquid silver Pearls don’t stick to this watercolour paper 😛  A black die cut heart before the word die “for you” was added.  Lotsa LOVE will heal all those difficult moments 😀  So to all those courageous ladies fighting or healed from this difficult disease, I honour you and send you my love, HUGz Joanna xx

 

Lovely Lily

I am thrilled and flattered to be the October Guest Designer for the the CAS Colours & Sketches Designer Team.  A weekly challenge boost to exercise your creativity 😀

The CAS Colours & Sketches #194 uses the colour scheme of Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Emerald Envy. I began by prepping my card base by adding Tempting Turquoise ink splatters and then debossing with a swiss dot strip folder.  A die cut white rectangle stamped “Une Pensée pour Toi” (A thought for you) was adhered followed by a fine frame in Tempting Turquoise card stock.  The leaves were die cut in Emerald Envy and the Lily was die cut in Melon Mambo and white vellum papers.  Clear Rock Candy Glitter was applied to the contour of the flower and the debossed areas on the card stock.  Finally a cluster of beads were added for the stigma.
